How tall are you? Just wondering cause I just ordered my bag with a 26” frame. I’m 5’11” and about 165-170lbs. Great video. Can’t wait for mine to get here. It says it’ll be 8 to 12 weeks which kinda sucks but I’m sure it’ll be worth it.

I’m a little over 5’7” and the 24 inch frame works great. I use my bag for everything and I’ve packed quite a few animals out with it.

Any updates? I'm real tempted! Part of me thinks it's big and could get away with a touch smaller like the Hoodlum just fine but I love the zipper design of the 44 & Ma Deuce and their internal pockets. What kind of turkey decoys? Can you fit a Dave Smith decoy in the Ma Deuce by chance? Thanks for posting it's a big help in my decision making. Cheers

The 44 mag would be a great turkey bag. I fit a fold out fan turkey and then a plastic hen that folds down into the ma deuce. I did fit a quarter out Doe inside of it the other day. And had all the room for my warming layers and butt pad inside of the bag still. Didn’t have to use the mead shelf. I was actually working on a video comparing the two bags because I have the deuce and my wife has the 44 mag. I fit all my stuff for the elk trip inside and I also carried the sawtooth as well. It could have fit in the 44 mag with some persuasive influence.

@@zswrestler1401 Right on and congrats! That comparison video will be sweet. I tend to be a kitchen sink kinda guy. even when I'm trying to go light I'm often wishing I had a little more room in my present and past packs. I think the M2 will serve me well. Also on a 24 frame. Are you happy that you went with the Duplex Lite? Hearing Sawtooth got my wheels a turning even more that thing is sweet!

@@canadoescalling1800 I do enjoy the frame and how much you can customize it to yourself. I’ve put on a ton of miles and I still move it around a bit. The Sherman is my kill kit and if I need to have a rain coat ready. But the sawtooth is an amazing tarp/tipi. I’ve had 3 people sleeping in it with comfort and room for our gear. I haven’t tried a stove in it yet. Maybe next year I’ll try it. If you have Instagram you can find pictures of me with the pack on. It’s zacswank so it’s easy to find.

How would you hang a hydration bladder? I have a Kifaru Reckoning and it hangs between the frame and bag... but this one looks like there’s lots of hooks on the inside at the top?

I’ve never looked. It never even crossed my mind because I’m using the bottle holders. I’ll check on it and comment back.

I checked my bag. And it doesn’t have the hydration bladder. The 44 mag has one, my wife’s just came in and I checked it.

Other than size, is there a reason to get the Ma Deuce over the 44mag? I’m considering the 44mag for 1-3 night winter hunts. But I’m a tad worried I’ll be struggling with space a bit. I don’t want to rely on ton so pockets, as that can get expensive. I’d appreciate your thoughts, given that you and your wife own both.

The 44 mag would be just fine for a 1-3 day winter trip. I've done 5 day winter trips with a pack smaller than the new 357 that just came out. Its got plenty of pockets already attached that are internal as well. The Ma Deuce is massive. I plan on doing fly in hunts in the future that are multi week hunts. Whats nice is how well they compress down. But for what your wanting, the 44 mag would be just fine for you. I'll do a comparison of the two bags and put the video up so its more visual.

Zac and Amanda that’s great info. Thanks a lot. I always get weird about my sleeping bag (it’s actually a mummy pod for my hammock setup). It’s a big ole synthetic bag that’s warm but big. It takes up about 1500ci it seems lol. I haven’t back packed much in recent years so I’m out of touch with how much space my gear actually requires. Kifaru packs are so expensive, you don’t want to get it wrong. Did you mostly buy the Ma Deuce for those longer expeditions?

@@zswrestler1401 One other question. With how the Ma Deuce compresses, is there any reason NOT to get it over the 44mag? Other than price, of course.

Billy Atwell if you’re short, the bag will sag off the frame. If my wife got the Ma Deuce, it’d hang off the bottom of her 22 inch frame. I’ve got the 24 duplex light and it fits fine. If you’re using an under quilt along with a sleeping bag, I’d get the Ma Deuce just for the space you’re taking up with your insulating layers. It’s super nice during turkey season. I stuff several decoys in it and a woobie. It’s an awesome bag. It’s big, but it’s super nice.

Zac and Amanda ya, I’m 6’1” and will use the 26” frame most likely. Sounds like the Ma Deuce might be my better option for me.
