I got into MaK, when it was SF3D, when I first seen the kits at a hobby store close to Ft Campbell while I was serving there in 1984, just as anime, was having its big introduction to the States. My first kit was either the Fledermaus or the Fireball and was pleased how they worked out, ended up leaving them on display at the hobby shop, when I mustered out. It was always the rough aesthetic that caught my attention. And I had picked up a couple of kits later. Plus being a mook collector, I found a copy of the SF3D Blue Book, and it's been a book I often pull out to flip through. I even acquired the two Squad Leader like board games. I'd say I've had a long history with the line.

I love them for the designs, the mixture of organic shapes with a heavily mechanized design is so interesting, and they go heavy on the weathering which is right up my alley!

First discovered Ma.K from you and immediately loved the designs specifically the bulky/rounded shapes mixed with ww2 aesthetics. A good mix of gritty and grounded military with sci-fi.

Ma. K was initially very different for me. Now I am getting the hang of it and I am very confident in building Ma. K model kits and improving every day! Thank you for introducing Ma. K to me! 😁 😍🥰😄💞👍✌

I still have my first S.F.3d kit by Nitto way back in 1984. The Fledermaus. I was so impressed with the details and everything you got with this kit. 😸!

Gorgeous -book- mook! I love how machinen krieger kits look, so uniquely realistic and cool! They really feel like sci-fi designs from the minds of wwII vehicle designers. I didnt even know ma.k was a thing before hearing you talk about it years ago on your channel and was immediately sold on the aesthetics. My first thought was: hey those look super similar in style to the metal gear in the ads from metal gear 2 on msx....and, after quick research, it turned out that that metal gear was indeed basically a customized ma.k krote kit, really neat!

I think I first found out about Ma.K watching a plamo-no-trend Livestream you did with Josh during Lockdown. I had just gotten into Gunpla at the same time, which is how I ended up following your KZbin channel for how to paint Gunpla. What I like about Ma.K is that they fall somewhere between 'robots' and Tanks and I like that aesthetic of mechanical engineering on the very edge of its limits that could fail at any moment. Plus, the weathering effects expert builders throw on these kits looks awesome!

1st exposure was here on your channel when u interviewed lincoln wright..i think u single-handedly open the flood gate to a lot of things that's pooular now in the model kit world..ma.k, mecha musume, NAOKI etc.. outside japan that is 😅

While I love the suits, the Ma.k vehicles really caught my attention initially. Specifically the Falke. I feel like it really represents the spirit of the kitbash freedom that the original models from Kow have. Motorcycle parts, plane parts, bits and bobs, pingpong balls, and of course the yalult bottle engine! All so cool, cleaver, and creative

My favorite thing about Ma.K is how it's a good intermediate step after working on gunpla for a while. It really tests everything you've learned as far like painting, weathering, shading as well as assembly.

I recently just got into Maschinen Kreiger and i have to say I love how unique it is. The builds in the magazine are so creative and I hope i can get to that level someday

My favorite thing about maschinen kreiger is the general ascetics/designs that make up the universe. It's like a blend of WW2, Dieselpunk and World War Robot designs.

I really like that the Ma.K kit details were initially kitbashes from existing model kits. I love the results from hand-painting lacquers on the kits, esp the layers and textures.

Honestly the Maschinen Krieger dioramas people make are just incredible. I've always ment to pick up a few kits in order create some cool sense with them.

I think I first found out about Ma.K. / SF3D browsing HLJ back in high school in the late 90s. Back then there was absolutely no way of getting info on some of these more niche things, but I was intrigued by them as a concept because they stood out so much from the rest of the stuff they were selling (which they continue to do so). Of course those were resin garage kits and I was a high school student with no job back then, so they were completely out of reach. But the unique shape of the Fireball SAFS, along with the WWII aesthetic and the highly detailed functional appearance of the model kits, always stuck with me. So when I found my favorite hobby store in the next town over actually stocked the Hasegawa Ma.K kits, I splurged and got not one, but two of them! That'd be the 1/35 Lunadiver Stingray (the version that includes two of the SAFS) and the 1/20 Grosser Hund. I have yet to build them - I have a backlog of Gunpla that I am working my way through - but I have ambitions of building a diorama to pit my Stingray against a 1/35 VOTOMS Rabidly Dog that I also need to put together sometime. TBH I'm pretty ignorant of the actual story behind Ma.K, but the kits appeal to me on a different aesthetic level than Gunpla do. I'm looking forward to trying out some of the more advanced painting and weathering techniques on them!

I got into Maschinen Krieger by having Lincoln Wrights vids reccomended to me by the algorithm. At first I didn't appreciate the finish and style because I've been into a very clean look for gunpla. It was only after seeing his beautiful space white MK44 that it all started to click for me. I bought a Dachshund, hand painted with lacquer and weathered it pretty heavily. I'm a proud owner of the Lincoln Report so I'd love to get this "companion" book.

As cool as giant humanoid robots are, the thing I like about maschinen krieger is how realistic and almost understated the human-sized suits can seem.

my first exposure to Ma.K. is seeing them from hobby magazines which fascinates me on how "hard sci-fi" they looked and compared them to Star Wars vehicles, still waiting for that Hollywood movie adaptation that is currently in limbo.

The "X's works" means the sculpt was by that person, and sold by them in that case, while "modeled by X" meant they built the kit if it's not scratched. AMA does kits still and I have most of his redesigns of classic MaK suits. Really wonderful work by him!

Just the esthetic. It's totally unique. Grounded and mechanical but oddly organic with a lot of the shape language. When I lived in Japan (89-2004) I'd search for old issues of HJ just to look for reissues of kits in the B&W sections.

I've been meaning to jump into the Ma K kits. They have a curvy style that is different from the angular gundam stuff I'm used too. It would be a nice change up to test my modeling skills.
