This serve is 3x illegal in one serve. 1. 30 degree rule abused. 2. Hidden ball. 3. During throwing creating spin with hand 😅

Exactly. The throw angle is ridiculous, guy throws the ball from middle of the tabble to the edge of the table. This is just dumb. Not only he hides the ball, he hides racket movement aswell.

Why don't we just add cameras under the side of the net post? This seems like a very easy issue to solve. If the umpire doesn't call a fault but the opponent complains, they can review the footage and determine if it was fault or not. If the opponent made a false call, then the point would be awarded to the server. If it was a fault, then the receiver.

How would cams added to _that_ position determine if a serve were visible _to the receiver?_ There is only one unequivocal cam-position: line-of-sight position behind the receiver to the server. But... the server can serve from any legal place behind the table. This could lead to a risible arms-war between the server(s) and the camera-placer(s). The thing to do is penalize juniors rigorously when they are in local tournaments and when they are relative nobodies. Then they won't grow up to be Emmanuel Lebessons

i hate this crap people pushing the boundaries. they need to change the rules again, that the serve be completely seen easily. Maybe only do serves in front of body. These serve wins are not good for the viewers

Thats why you got to toss the vertically upwards. If you dont, irrigardless you hide the ball during contact or not, you'll call the fault and may potentially lose a point

The player just push the serve to the boundaries that the rule allowed. Chinese players are trained not purely base on the time of contact to return a serve. It is important to keep the rule as few and simple as possible.

They need to get 2 more umpires to sit "behind" the table/receiving ends to see if the server indeed hides the ball during serves, so the umpires can see from the receivers perspective. This will help

I think there should be umps sitting behind the player positions on the table. If that ump is not able to see your serve, it should automatically be a let.

Serve issues aside, Xu played great and fearless. He made an aging Ma Long's life very difficult. Age obviously has caught up Ma who used to win the majority of rallies in his younger days but not anymore. Chinese young players, even many international players nowadays are not afraid of engaging Ma Long in long top spin rallies.

Totally give up table tennis and not watch any games. This game is a competion for dirty serve. Totally no fun and no sportsmanship in it. Table Tennis and Bedminton are dying sports. Both of them should be expelled from Olympic. Come on, 90% of the players and that blind ITTF is making less and less people love this sport.

@@michaelshaw2786 Damn KZbin push me this remind me these shit in Table Tennis. Recently into playing Padel, it's so fun. And especally the rule of Padel to serve is it guarantee to give the match a neutralized start. Almost no one is benefitted in a serve.
