Everyone talking about how Ma Long is getting older and more tired but i think Darko gave a really good fight too. Excluding the last set, he stayed pretty cool when Ma long was having the lead. Pretty strong mentality imo

@@a1988ditya I think the turning point was Ma Long able to return Darko's backhand shots. Darko won many points with his backhand. Very rare to see that against Ma Long. European players are good but lack a little bit of a few things.

Darko's clever play and confidence in himself was getting him points, making Ma Long very uncomfortable through shot variety and intimidating backhand.. Darko's body language in the last set was showing that he was most probably shaken by the last set's ending.

IMO Darko is the most exciting young player in the world right now. Period. Some of his BH shots visibly stunned Ma Long. Playing such a close match with the GOAT is an achievement which he can be proud of.

Really, how often you see a player out backhand Ma Long. Darko did that for the first 5 games. In the last set, Ma Long was able to counter Darko's backhand and that's when the score slipped away from Darko. The top Chinese players are so good because adjusting and adapting during the course of a match.

ma long is getting slower. darko's backhand is superb. the variety and angle of return from his backhand is excellent. however, he needs to work on his forehand.

@Legends reneverdie They were not stupid errors. Darko has a very good backhand and it is rare to see another player out-backhand Ma Long. At least for the 1st 5 sets. We can see Ma Long pulled away in the last game because Ma Long adjusted and successfully counter Darko's backhand.

Imagine witnessing one of the greatest talented players in table tennis being recorded with a camera that broadcast shitty quality. 720p 25 fps is totally unacceptable. Give us 1080p 60 fps as a minimum. Even the Belgium second division soccer teams are recorded with better quality and their talent level is embarrassingly low.

They record in high quality. The problem ist that they're having old licenses with their streaming partner. This license allows the streaming service to stream in a lower quality (it's cheaper). The head of ITTF's media team said, it'll get better soon.

lol Ma trains with the CNT he has tons of coaches,physios and training partners.Jorgic was certainly less prepaired and he is far less experienced in coming back after long breaks compared to Ma. Get some perspective instead of groveling to the ''captain'' .Jorgic simply has a backhand that can give Ma trouble.

Watching Darko play, reminds me of Tokic and Karakasevic. Unconventional styles, strong backhand and ball placement. This is a very effective strategy against the Chinese rather than going power for power and speed for speed.

Ma long's serve is insane. Especially the last several ones in set 5, look how he switched to some "unusual" serving style. Obviously, this is one of his last resorts to secure this game and he indeed managed to capitalize on it by his following third attack. Amazing..

On 3-0 in the third set there is nothing wrong with a commentator offtracking. This is a highlight video, but in an actual match of table tennis, even tennis - there is lots of time to talk about surrounding stuff and not only the game. Theres not enough happening to do play by play in TT. So my suggestion is you keep ur mouth shut and start being polite like ur dad taught u

I guess it was the fourth set and the scores are around 6-6 (don't remember precisely). And they're going off track so many times! All I'm saying is, the people have tuned in to watch a TT match. Not listen to their podcast. If they still want to talk, they should not do that between the points. That's it.

I watched a lot Ma Long videos I see that he puts the ball between right shoulder and chest to win point to several player like in this match or against to Fan Zhendong, particularly in this match Darko plays very well with his backhand though he looked not very confortable playing with his righthand.

Darko played very well until the last game. The 5th game, at 11-11, the next pt. Darko lost because of a netball. The score would have been 12-11 in favor of Darko instead of trailing 11-12. But even if he won that point, no guarantee he could win the set. After all, it is hard to beat Ma Long.
