At the end of week 2 here's what stands out: Apparently the prosecution thinks this case rests on if it was snowing that night, when it started snowing, how much it was snowing, and what type of snow was falling. Apparently the commonwealth also thinks a leaf blower is a valid forensic tool, a neighbors red solo cups are forensically stable evidence containers, and a rolled up paper Stop & Shop bag in a vehicle bay counts as a secure evidence storage. As someone who knew nothing about this case and has only watched your coverage if I were a juror I'm not sure the prosecution can overcome the above issues to get a conviction but we will see...

And the Best Friend who rolls up to the house doesn't go straight to the front door and start banging to get assistance? They have to wait for a patrol car?! Oh I forgot to mention, according to his wife, their sons are too careless or lazy or distracted about hanging onto house keys and that constantly changing locks too expensive so that’s the intelligent reason they used to simply not lock the front doors. Also, no surveillance cameras anywhere. Man, THAT is one secure man. He knows no one in that STATE is going to mess with this family. Oh yeah, ETA, his ATF friend comes in last according to one person present, but gets there first and shovels the driveway with his big truck. Well, which is it? You know, for having been a snowstorm or blizzard conditions that night, there wasn’t that much snow on top of John’ vehicle or the SUVs in the driveway the next morning. For all the mentioning of how awful they expected it be and experienced during the collecting of evidence at 6:45 - 8 am, the photos taken later that day and the driveway video shows not much snow accumulation.

Aaaand the benefit of being on Replay Crew... you can zoom through the direct examination on 2x while you fold laundry. Lol! The train noise regarding the dog was an interesting point, but... my dogs know the difference between a car just driving by/one of us pulling up in the carport(a word I'm now dying to hear one of these MA people say)/the Amazon delivery truck. They know what the neighbor's kids sound like when they're playing in the front yard vs someone walking by talking loudly on their phone. They know approx what time the mailman comes by and puts mail through the mail slot on the front door every day (though they still haven't figured out he's not comin on Sunday). ALSO, mine will grumble and sometimes bark when they see the flashy lights coming through the edges of the curtains at night (we live in a neighborhood with a lot of very old people currently. IYK,YK. check up on your neighbors please! even if it's just makin sure you see the kitchen light turned on/off every evening or whatever.). But some GSDs can be super chill. It's still super sus that they didn't wake up... not even a little... at least half the first responders in town were in their front yard for hours with all those bright a$$ LED lights flashing. Plus people calling their phones. I'm a heavy sleeper, but come on.

My neighbor had an ambulance called for him and my dogs woke me up scratching at the bedroom door and barking and my bedroom is at the back of my house! Good catch by my fellow Law Nerd! Edit: After looking at the photos of the house, my question is why, if Karen was dropping John off, would she have not dropped him off in front of the driveway? If there was no sidewalk, he would have to slog through snow to get to the door of the house and that makes no sense to me. Hopefully that gets answered at some point. It seems to me that the judge would rather do sidebars with the attorneys than have what they discuss in open court for everyone to hear. The dead guy is a cop, he's dead on the front yard of another cop who's related to every other cop or 1st responder by blood, friendship or marriage. The cops actually used tainted solo cups & a dirty shopping bag to handle evidence, including the latest crime scene tools like a shitty leaf blower. Contradictory statements, lots of fidgeting from the Pizza Shop Guy (sorry the names are all jumbled), Brian constantly looking down, the women's body language was also odd and stiff in many places.... The parties still have a long way to go one way or the other to prove either side to a jury, but the entire family rubs me the wrong way and the more they testified, the more likely it became that they could have been involved. "no injuries ~at that time~" was an ODD way to phrase it. It was an unnecessary clarification that raises the question of "ok, when DID you see injuries" The defensiveness and evasive answers about the dog The adamant response of having absolutely no idea there was a crime scene on your front lawn that the window faces Contradictory statements of when the (?) sister busted into the bedroom and what she said. WHYYYYYY is the prosecution's case helping the defense so much. so far, almost everything that wasn't redundantly neutral or useless has leaned away from KR imo.

The amount of his fidgeting and moving around was driving me nuts. Maybe that was a tactic to get the jury to focus on that and not his testimony

"Where were you in relation to the high top?" is the civilian equivalent of "what, if any, snow did you see?" that he was asking the first responders.

Do you get a high chair with the high top🤣🤣🤣

@@Always_Thinking that's one we haven't heard yet. 🤣 "What, if any, high chairs did you get to sit at your high top?"

I can't wait till cross on Monday on this witness. I don't believe anything he's said. Nothing is adding up. Nothing. Unless you think cops have odorless shit. In what world does this man not go out to look and talk to officers on scene?

1:09. He says “John O and Karen R never entered my house” such a confident statement to the jury and technically not a lie under oath if John entered without Karen. 🤔

I do wonder if that is true, and the altercation happened on the lawn or driveway as the nephew was leaving and the commotion brought the Brians and Chloe out.

@@wonder5487 But wouldn’t neighbors hear the commotion? Dog barking, people yelling, etc.

@@CarlaB-p4r Good question. I'm not sure. They do seem to have large lots and I noticed in the video a row of trees were between their home and the closest one to the body (nearest property line to John). But, the one across the street was another officer's home, where they said they got the Solo Cups, so that neighbor knew something was going on. As for dogs barking, I don't think there was any, as my point that is was strange the commotion near their bedroom didn't make theirs bark to wake them.

No. He said clearly neither entered his house. The end

How is it they have ring camera footage of the cops showing up, but not the actual incident??

Any moment now the band is going to testify with a song about meteorological data for that night.
