Im from WV, and yes EVERYTHING here --roads, buildings, etc are named after him. I guess thats why we reelect him...he can get anything built we need!
@tribefan01118 жыл бұрын
He has many buildings and roads named after him because he has brought a lot to our state. John Raese could not bring nearly as much as Robert C. Byrd has brought to the state.

im here from a link my government teacher online told us to view to answer some questions and im done now as soon as he said "yeah man" and "big daddy". i dont care if i fail the test, im guessing to the questions of "what type of service was former senator robert byrd of west virginia talking about in his excerpt from a speech in marshall university?" "what feature of congressional behavior is most evident in these remarks from former senator robert byrd of west virginia?" . it was too silly and hard to take serious when you are trying to listen to important test question answers.

Can't defend what he with the KKK... but he did say this before he died. I know now I was wrong. Intolerance had no place in America. I apologized a thousand times ... and I don't mind apologizing over and over again. I can't erase what happened. ” - Robert C. Byrd

In response to bob46's comments on Byrd being in the Klan: Yes our Senator from West Virginia was a member of the KKK in his younger days. I'd like to point out also that Senator Byrd is invited to speak at the WV Chapter of the NAACP annually, to a crowd of applauding black Appalachians who support him. Call him racist if you want, I call him a man who admitts his mistakes.
@jontheroadagain18 жыл бұрын
What the hell do you know? Shameless? What should he be shameful about? He's out these doing -everything- he can for his constituents. I would hate to have you as my senator, sir. 87 billion here for Iraq? "Yay!" Shouldnt we engage in healthy debate before voting? "Nay!" Please hold Byrd to the same standard as Republicans! Please! Then we can really see his true genius and dedication!

I only think Senator Byrd should be held to the same standard as any Republican. I care far more about Senator Byrd's continued loyalties and defense of those who are our vocal enemies. He is shameless. This video clip is funny but should concern anyone who cares about the nature of politics in this country.
