Might be a silly question but how do you guys relate to this? Culturally and even within the subject of cinema, i'm curious to know if you get the context or just critic the acting, costumes, art design, music, cinematography, etc? Also, how do you choose which movies to watch? I recommend not going by numbers cause TamilNadu has a crazy commerical fan following for Ajith Kumar and Vijay movies, that's what you'll get most of the time. They literally hero worship these actors who aren't the best at acting. In these movies, quite like Marvel, you will see action, comedy, romantic duets, an uptempo song that is generally used to introduce the lead actors, a standard format is followed to bring in the mass audience who watch movies to have a good time and watch the good guy beat the villains, it gives them a superficial high and a false sense of accomplishment. They live through these movies. Maari is one such movie, although Dhanush is great actor, watch Pudhupettai. More importantly, I appreciate what you do :)
