They are the posterity of cushitic neo-lithic pastoralists that inhabited Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, and some excavations denoting migrations as far as South Africa preceding the mass bantu exodus from west Africa and influx into Central and Eastern Africa. @@Mr2real2real You need to realise that maasais and kikuyus used to intermarry during the precolonial era. Names like waweru (one of the plains) are a result of their intermarriage, therefore some kikuyus have maasai ancestors.

@King of Sennar Alot of similarities in their right of passage rituals, the circumcision, anointing the head with milk (distinctly cushite tradition also adopted by the pharaohs of Egypt, Caano Shub) cutting of a warriors hair when he is married off and officially becomes a man etc, also im not the one saying Maassai are related to cushites, if you ever have spoken with one, you would know they themselves claim closer relation to people like the somali more than any other nilotic group. They even have the fierceness of the cushite unlike other nilotic people, who are generally much less violent.

2 years later but: It is being overcome by emotion. Masai morans experience this when singing together or during transitional times like this one when they're giving up moranism and moving to (young)elder status. A new ageset will now take the most iconic status of the maasai man- moranism.

There is also a type of white mad to smear on the body for beauty. Bright colors are favorite to maasai. Worriors go a period of 10 to 14 years before graduation to young elders.

And no, Im not gay, just curious on how they culture really works... And yes, when I found out that Maasai do not belive in afterlife, and that when one dies his/her journey is over (that is what they belive), they simply move the body away anywhere, they do not burry theyr dead.. Please, can someone confirm this to me? A real Maasai maybee?? Thank You 4 this awesome video. Beautiful people.

Before Christianity and even many to this day believe they are being watch and protected by the ancestors. When they pray they call their God "Enkai" God of our our fathers our grandfathers (the call the name of the past age set) they are the generation that are nolonger alive. So they believe that when they die they still live in a spiritual world. About the dead when they die in wars or tribal clushes no one go after them reason this are war zone no one dare go there. Also long time that is before the effects of western. They didn't burry they believe when eaten by the wild animals is a sign of good will that person is blessed they just migrate to other part and leave that place Today you can't see such, they burry that was over 40 years ago. Today most are not just migrating as they use to be only animals during dry season, it is forbidden for women and children to view the dead they buried .the issue with gayism it is just hard to hear such it is a crime so shameful maybe same as sleeping with your mother, people will never even want to associate with you. You are just an outcast. I don't think there is a maasai man living in maasai land who can be a guy the society will just turn against you.
