To my dear father - Today is not only to thank you and celebrate all that you've done for me, but everyone around you. You have sacrificed so much and lost so much of yourself over the decades, but even so, you never lost sight of me.
When my days are dark, it is the sound of your voice and laughter that makes my day brighter. It is your words of embrace that allows me to keep striving. Thank you for always holding my hand through the dark times and the good times.
I know I will never, in my life time, be able to repay you with the gratitude and appreciation you truly deserve but I hope you know that though distance separates us, you will always be a part of my life. I know words can never convey the emotions when written on paper, but it can certainly be reflected through the harmonizing of your melody and my harmony.

October 6th, 2013. Lost my dad my sophomore year of high school so suddenly so I had to pick up a lot of responsibilities. I just recently graduated high school and I miss him so much. I carry his picture in my wallet so that I go everywhere with him. Even though I have a stepdad now, nothing will ever beat the love of my father who would come running to pick me up at school if I was sick and give me his shoes to wear if mine were ever wore down.

I miss my dad... passed away in 2013 and every time I listen to this song I get choked up because my dad knew how to play every hmong instrument and showed it to me when I was really young. I absolutely love the Hmong violin at the beginning and ending. I mainly listen to it just for the violin. What we as kids need to do is to love our parents, and provide for them to the best of our abilities. Don't bad mouth them, and answer them nicely even when they are being annoying or asking the dumbest questions. You never know what tomorrow will bring and when they would be taken from you. I always lecture people that I see them treat their friends better than their parents, and to not do that because friends are replaceable, but parents are not. Don't wait until they reach 120years old. Love them now when you still have the chance so that when their time is up, you could let them go without regretting about not doing enough. Even tho my KZbin name is Korean I'm Hmong. When I listened to this song I started crying bcuz it reminded me of my dad. He's not with me so I rlly miss him. He's not dead but my parents are divorced and I stay with my mom. I rlly want to see him but I can't. When I cried my mom started crying with me. I was surprised that she cried with me. But my little sister just stared at me like I'm an idiot. Even tho she's ten she still doesn't understand peoples feelings.
