Because I grew up in a different country than my family (except parents) we would mostly see family for one week in the summer because it takes 8-9 hours on a good summer day to get to them. So during winter it would take us 2 days of driving because everything is slower and dangerous. I had my parents around me for christmas but to be honest it never felt like christmas because we would sit there just us three bored and then cleaning up after a big meal right away.
