MAC & CHEESE WITH JAMES

James is practicing our homemade Mac & Cheese recipe for an upcoming Mac & Cheese Challenge at his Culinary Arts Program!
Oma’s Mac & Cheese Recipe:
Ingredients:
-2 Cups Elbow Pasta
-2 T Butter
-2 T Flour
-2 1/2 C Milk
-3 C Shredded Cheddar
-Salt/Pepper to Taste
Directions:
1. Cook Pasta according to box
2. Melt butter in a pot and then whisk in flour
3. Whisk for 2 minutes
4. Add Milk and whisk until thickened and bubbling
5. Turn off heat and stir in cheese
6. Pour into a casserole dish
7. Bake 350 degrees for 25 minutes
8. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving
*Optional: Add crushed ritz crackers before baking
*Serves 8 people

Alicia your different treatment of certain kids is very blatant .. my heart goes out to James , he clearly wanted to tell you to leave him alone but couldn’t . Situational awareness wasn’t there at all . Let him do him without the micromanaging. His demeanor is clearly uncomfortable with you there and the interaction between you both seems so so distant , almost as if you were meeting each other for the first time . The amount of kids that you have has taken away from the quality time that you are able to give each child and it’s so evident. The weekly one on one date that u have with a different kid every week isn’t enough and it’s so clear in this video alone . Honestly quality is much better than quantity imo 🤷‍♀️

If this situation was in my kitchen with one of my children , i would of said i will be in the living room so if you need any help with a part let me know and i will assist that part then i will go back where i was. When my child would complete the recipe we would sample taste it. If it was fantastic i would praise them. If it did not turn out we would watch video and i would have said ok ..what would you have done differently to improve your dish..then praise them for trying . and re made the next day with their improvement . That way they will see their self where they needed improvement. That way they figure it out and you are not putting them in a situation thinking you made them feel inferior. Everyone in life learned to cook and made mistakes so thats part of learning. Also not everybodys tastebuds are the same so weighing that factor must be taken into consideration of the outcome also. Most generally cooks and or Chefs moderately season recipes so as not to over do it. That way if a person wants more of a spice additive they have an option to add more to their own serving . James thank your for giving us the honor of watching you create your dish. Perhaps one day you may choose cooking publicly as a profession.❤
