Mick Manmoose its mainly (i think) bc you hear that hook riff on the studio version. What he does is he records all these instruments one at a time. He records the chord playing at once and later on puts the hook riffs over the previous chord recording. So in real life its near impossible to do both at the same time on he same guitar. You would need two guitarists

I love Mac, but honestly this guy needs a well deserved break. He looks worn out. Surely, the drinking adds to it. But I never understood his reputation as a "slacker" He tours like crazy. You can tell, because he visits the shit hole I come from. And his albums comes pretty close upon each other. He should take year or two off. Write music, if he wants too. Be happy , maybe make little rocker baby with Kiki ;)
