I love how he flubs in the beginning, laughs at himself, and then proceeds to blow our minds with in my opinion the best version of Together. VERY psychedelic and genuine. Thought I was listening to Velvet Underground mixed with Beatles, Doors, Floyd and Grateful Dead a couple times when I first heard this

I saw him in concert and he played “together” as his last song. Halfway through the song they transitioned into covering punk rock songs for another hour until finally going back into together and finishing the show. It was nuts
@DanielSmith-yu4is2 жыл бұрын
Proceeds to blow our minds… This is my introduction to this guy…sounds like a bad high school talent show band. I think he needs a bit more practice. It’s cool that he doesn’t take himself seriously but I think that’s a defensive mechanism..he’s just not a very good musician.
@MountainBlade2 жыл бұрын
@@DanielSmith-yu4is you have no idea what you are talking about.
@blairjohnson60142 жыл бұрын
@@DanielSmith-yu4is I don’t think you have a very good ear…. Or something. His voice alone is insane. He’s a very good guitar player, but that’s not even his strongest facet, he’s leading the entire band through a very meandering song and it all comes together brilliantly. This might not be your particular “genre” (it’s not exactly mine), but to not appreciate it to the point that you call them a “high school band” is kind of absurd.

I always wanted him to drop an Funky album, like the exact same type of track he showed in a video saying it was just “garbage” or sum like that That dude is insane, that he showed right there was pure art. And I’m not really an indie fan, but I like some of his stuff, and I’d be listening to his type of funk all day long.

I just had the realization that this kinda indie style music is the sound of the current era. The same way we think of oldschool hiphop and grunge in the 90s or disco in the 80s. This sound with that very distinct guitar tone, is so new and people will remember it decades from now.

Perhaps it doesn't really work that way anymore, since music isn't centralised the way it used to me. Since the internet, everyone has access to their own niche music whenever they want. Also, a majority of users will not ever get shown a song from this guy on their page, theyll get someone else because KZbin knows what everyone likes and will likely click on. It's easy to forget that what you see on the internet is just a small slice, not representative of the bigger picture.
