It feels like im singing to my younger self, telling him all that I've done. And reflecting what I've used to be, now I'm willingly marching into a new light as i shed the scars and skin of my old life. It hurts, but the pain will subside after I've accepted myself.

this would be so good at the end of a movie, like the main guy’s life is just completely in shambles and he’s just sitting in the ruins of it and reflecting about how fucked up everything is but is in a state of peace cuz he understands how the world works now- which is that everything is uncertain, and there’s no real sense in anything that happens ever

recently mac has been such an influence in a new phase of my life. and his music brought a special kind of color to it. it really is hard to explain without someone else having to be in my shoes, but all i can say is that it's quite "in-tune even though it's out-of-tune as well". the foggy kind of cream cheese or something else unusual. to end with the point, i think this song "Passing Out The Pieces" means that he's giving out his own self for the whole world to hear and to make something out of it. something that we convert and apply to ourselves and to enjoy it, simply. he is literally passing out the pieces i love him a lot

Also opening up too much and being too goofy and then people thinking you'll always be that especially for them when they want a laugh. When you were just being yourself in those moments trying to make your friends laugh and possibly bring them joy but they take you as a clown and you forget how to be yourself around people. Even potential good friends.

To me this song is about not seeing how your life literally passes away in front of you. Being nihilistic and just demotivated and instead escaping into this merry, funny and worriless stage. It is about the lack of control over his life and his approach to it which tries to be positive without actually solving any problems.

This is so good. I'm conceptualizing a music video already. It opens with like cinematic shots of a totally trashed mansion the morning after an insane party. We see a bunch of other music stars passed out totally messed up. Writing on them, cloths missing, the whole deal. And we find mac waking up all trashed up like the others. He steps over celebrities and trash looking for his guitar. Then he goes out to a balcony and plays this song. When it gets to the chorus he finds like a camera and it has recordings and the music video changes setting to the party at it's peak with mac being mac. And we ser celebrities doing crazy shit. Idk. Just something I thought of when listening to this.
