I could play on stage in front of lots of people with people I know and not feel any nerves at all but the other week I signed up for a jazz jam and the anxiety from that was pretty bad. I find it pretty arrogant to judge somebody based off of a few minutes of unexpected on stage playing, with potentially their favorite band. The range of emotions going through someone in this moment (while they are probably a bit intoxicated) is too much for any of us to judge. I find it's best to give benefit of the doubt when you know zero about a person, but others find it's best to let their insecurities show. It's up to you, in the end, it doesn't affect me any.
