I randomly met Mac at the Arc Light in Hollywood, I was freaking out to say the least. He’s such a cool dude. After talking for about 5-10 minutes. We were saying our goodbyes, when he gave me his email and invited me to watch him play at the Greek Theater. He got me VIP passes for me and a few friends. He’s a genuine guy. LOVE THIS MAN!

Man there’s only a couple of mac demarco songs I listen to, but the way he treats people and his worldview is really what makes me a fan. Very cool of him to extend that stage presence to a young fan, and so patiently too. Sometimes it seems like when artists pull people up on stage they are ready to judge their abilities, with this it felt more like he was just concerned the kid was as comfortable as possible. I find it pretty arrogant to judge somebody based off of a few minutes of unexpected on stage playing, with potentially their favorite band. The range of emotions going through someone in this moment (while they are probably a bit intoxicated) is too much for any of us to judge. I find it's best to give benefit of the doubt when you know zero about a person, but others find it's best to let their insecurities show. It's up to you, in the end, it doesn't affect me any.
