Mac Installation Instructions for The Perfumer's Workbook

The Perfumer's Workbook runs on Mac perfectly but sometimes users experience difficulties in setting it up. These step by step instructions will solve most problems. If not contact us at www.perfumersworld.com/contact
1) Download The Perfumer's Workbook

Leave it alone DO NOT UNPACK, CLICK or UNZIP it.
2) Open the Downloads folder in FINDER
Click the little arrow to the left of the downloaded
Workbook-Portable.zip
Simply Drag the program icon to the desktop.
3) Click the app on the Desktop.
4) If it opens with:
"workbook-portable.app can't be opened because
it is from an unidentified developer".
Then using FINDER (NOT Launchpad)
Go to DESKTOP and find the workbook-portable.app.
Press the [CONTROL] key and click the app icon,
then choose [OPEN] from the shortcut menu.
In the dialogue box that appears click [OPEN].
The app will be saved as an exception in your security settings.
5) Registration:
Registration can be completed 2 ways.
IMPORTANT DO NOT open the registration file in
TextEdit, email program or any other app.
Just drag the PW-Licence-*******.txt file to the Desktop
If it opens TextEdit then just close the window immediately.
Method 1 : Start the program and go to
[HELP] Menu -- [REGISTER PROGRAM]
Click [OPEN] find the PW-Licence*****.txt file
- [OPEN]
Back in the Registration window click [REGISTER]
Method 2 : Especially useful if you get locked
out of the program.
Before starting the program.
Open Finder, find the program app icon.
Right click OR press [CONTROL] key & click on the app icon.
From the shortcut menu select [SHOW PACKAGE CONTENTS]
This should reveal a folder /MacOS
Drag the PW-Licence-*******.txt file to the MacOS folder.
When you start the program you should gain access
but the next time you open it you will need your
default password (a 4-digit number) from the email.
