If you wonder why Tom's fans don't like rap, it may be that they don't -- yet. Tom, Upchurch, Byson Gray can be gateway rappers for this new audience. They're adding a new group to the culture. My gateway rapper was Hi Rez. I moved on to Byson Gray, America, then discovered T-Mac, who's my fave. I finally tried Eminem, Dax, Nova, Snow tha Product, King Crooked, & loved them all. I've heard very little of Pac, but liked him too. They're mostly indies & they don't diss women, except Em. But Em disses everyone, so he got me into diss tracks. Which got me into Knox Hill, a fine MC in his own right & fantastic at diss tracks. Gateway rappers. Tom's a good one.

I think this is going to get wild. Boyd, if you read this, I would love to see you react to Greydon Square's "Summer's Ending." You should have lyrics up from Genius to break down a lot of stuff. He has the same old story about a rapper from Compton, Gang Bangin' Dope Boy from a broken home. He got busted at 17, tried as an adult and was given a choice between prison, or the Army. Right after he graduated boot camp 9/11 happen, and he was sent to 82nd Airborne for the initial invasions of Ramadi and Falluja. He changed his life after the military and left Compton, moved to Arizona, and went to college for computer science, and studies mathematics and astrophysics for fun, and this is the primary subject of most of his music. I can't speak for others but for me the reason I don't like most rap is just because they talk about women, drugs, drinking ext. I know Tom has had song about drugs and drinking but in most of those cases he is talking about how he has recovered from it. The Em bar has some validity, but not as much as lethal wants it to. D12 was disbanded (no longer a group) in 2018. Dear Slim dropped in 2021. Lethal went on tour last year with Swifty of D12. So he toured with one guy, not the group in so far as I know. Its kinda of a strech. I will say, had lethal came with this kind of energy the first go around with tom. he would have removed him from hip-hop. No way Tom would have recovered.

I feel bad for this guy. I don't know who this Mc Lethal is and I don't have to. All I know is that he is lethal to himself. We should be able to make a distinction between a real diss that calls for a response, and something that is more a cry for help and prayers.
