Being a young man from Tennessee growing up listening to Kenny. I never knew this wasn’t his song. Not until recently have I thought to look for the original version of his did I realize he made it popular with a live performance that was apart of his Greatest Hits album that released when we were all in high school. Many Keg parties with a burnt CD and dropped tail gates!

I grew up in Hattiesburg back in the 60’s son of a Presbyterian preacher and could not be prouder to be from this precious state. I’ve since lived in Arkansas, Texas, Colorado and Kansas but damnit I’m a old Mississippian till I die. I think about it and miss it everyday.

This is the version i know. I remember ❤️❤️❤️. Blue eyes on Saturday night was Stephen Baldwin as William Cody on The Young Riders. We lived in the country. And so did my grandparents. Great times. Love being a country girl ❤️❤️❤️

This song and Jimmy's "Nobody From Nowhere" really speak to this country girl.

Mac also plays the heart strings on this song. I love this song and I sing it from my heart. My verse #2 takes me to rural Illinois Quad Cities area. (Midwestern version) I' m thinking there are likely many localized versions of this heartfelt song by now.

Mac, you’ve always been a part of my musical life, as far back as Inca remember, as a part of the Coral Reefers. Thank you for continuing to be a part of my life as we explore more journeys “around the sun.”

I don’t live very far from Belmont, 32 miles north west of Belmont. I live in Rienzi Mississippi in Alcorn county, The next county to the west of Tishomingo County. I love this song so much. It’s everything Mississippi, my home. Mac is one of the best country music artists to ever live. May God richly bless him🙏🙏

I'm 19, from Alabama. I was guessing you were from Alabama by the thumbnail with the historic information sign (looks similar to one's I've seen). Looked up where you were from, and sure enough I was right. Red Bay, Alabama. 🇺🇸
