I vaguely heard of Mac but studied EVERYTHING about him post mortem out of curiosity. Mac was an OLD SOUL & a NEW SOUL! He was DEEP, SUPER INTELLIGENT & SEMI GENIUS! He had so much genuine love for anyone he was around! He was simply A BEACON OF LIGHT! His knowledge of music from ALL GENRE'S was so impressive to me. I am way older than he was and loved how he could appreciate older jazz musicians, etc...i.e. Buddy Rich?! Etc... Love DANG! MANY MORE OF HIS SONGS collaborating with his band: Thunder Cat, Jean Baptists (sorry if I've misspelled) but, Malcolm James McCormick was A GREAT MUSICIAN who I won't forget! It’s crazy that I didn’t really care when I heard the news he died, the only song I really knew of his at the time was Party on Fifth Ave. But now as Ive heard more of his music and have matured since then I connect w/ him and his music so much more.
