For real, this always happens with the most creative artists, no offense to other artists but Mac is of a different mind set, he was deep, he carried that old school vibe with new school, and he did it right. Respect all the way Mac!💔💋

checkout more thundercat hes the guy who did the beat/bassline makes amazing old school sounding funk
@thefumexxl5 жыл бұрын
@EndofMusic You're comparing two wildly different expressions of music. Thundercat, the producer behind the beat on this track, is an insanely accomplished bassist, composer and producer. Short Skirt Long Jacket is an incredible song and cake fuckin rules, that being so it doesn't at all take away from OP's point. Thundercat and Mac Miller manage to capture multiple decades of soul/funk/R&B/Hip-hop and Pop into a single cohesive, deceivingly chill track. For most Cake isn't exactly timeless music. I agree they absolutely capture multiple eras and styles well in their very original concoction, and it holds up well as it ages. But it comes through differently, Cake to Miller. As a huge fan of both the band you mention and the artists involved in the track above, it's really not hard to enjoy both and appreciate the sheer amount of taste and talent that goes into both kinds of music.

To All New Listeners of Mac Miller, Welcome and I truly mean that with open arms, I truly hope you take the time to catch up on his old music and take the time to listen to his new album that just recently dropped. Mac was a very unique artist and his new album hit my soul. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do. Let Mac Miller help you feel some vibes and help you through tough times. If you haven't heard his new album, please do and hear the emotion of a heartbroken artist, his music speaks to the soul and he even though he had his heart broken and faced his demons, he was a positive spirit and his music will live on forever. Don't worry about anyone calling you fake fans, if you just now heard of him, its okay you slept on him, but he is at rest now. Take the time to listen to his new album and if you enjoy it, just continue to listen and appreciate him as an artist. Broken hearts are truly the worst thing to deal with. So any new listeners, I say welcome, and it's better late than never. I'm still in denial. I won't even type out those 3 letters, just welcome to Mac Miller and listen to his music with an open heart.

Mac, I come back to this album often. I have been through heartache I'm sure you can imagine. I just lost my oldest brother to stage IV cancer and it's made me feel dead inside. I remember finding out when you passed. I was in my college library. My friend texted me with the news. I thought he was joking, so I googled it for myself. He was not joking. I started to feel the volcano of emotion. I walked to the bathroom and entered the nearest stall. I cried harder than I have ever cried. I mourned for 3 days after I found out. I have only cried harder for my brother. Listening to your music makes me think of both of you. I love you, Nate. I love you, Mac.

Two weeks later I go on my favorite daily gossip blog and see the headline that Mac had passed. Still don't want to believe it. His music will live on. I guarantee it. The first time I heard Mac was summer 2010 in my son's father's truck. He played K.I.D.S. mixtape. I find it amazing that Mac has fans from Elton John to my 3 yr old son.

One of my favorite Mac songs of all time. Gotta be top 5. No matter what mood I'm in, it makes me happy. When I'm sad, when I'm angry, when I'm happy, even when I'm working out as it mixes with all my hard Rock, Hip Hop, and EDM. The groove, macs passion, macs flow as he starts his verse, his cleverness with writing, the catchy hook, and the beautiful beat and bassline... the song always puts a smile on my face. Can't help but rap or sing along to this song because it's so damn catchy. Truly a great song displaying Macs enormous talent and passion for music. WE MISS YOU MAC

I had an ex I loved and I couldn't let go. She was bad news tho. Lol. She was toxic. But I kept seeing her. I thought What's the use of resisting? The lyrics, mang. The song makes perfect sense to me now. I eventually got tired of her crap and left tho. Now I'm at Self Care. I miss you, Mac. I know what you are talking about.

3 year anniversary of this dropping on KZbin miss mac miller, think about him often. Been listening to mac since 2012 when i was a sophomore in high school & his death has shook me more than anything in my life (guess i have it pretty good then? idk) like I think about his death a few times a week and listening to his music is extremely hard now but i still jam all the classics & hits he put out over a decade, THATS how we keep Mac alive now, we never stop playing his songs and we never stop saying his name. Thank you for everything Malcolm, you were one of the realest to ever do it.

It was September 2021. On the first day of the month, as I'm moving into a new apartment with my girlfriend and fathering the puppy we just bought only a month prior, I find out my mom has terminal Stage 4 cancer. Instantly, my new apartment becomes a sort-of hospice where my small family gathers around my dying mother. She spent most of her adult life battling severe addiction and living on the streets of the Downtown Eastside in Vancouver, British Columbia and was staying in socialized housing which consisted of a single room with a sink in it. Needless to say, she didn't have the infrastructure to have us all around visiting her so I hosted. Her and my brother had not spoken in a decade. The first weekend that we found out she was sick, she stayed at my place and I got to facilitate her and my brother reuniting after a decade of absolutely no contact, not even a phone call. That was heavy. That entire month was unbearably heavy. But, I had the Swimming CD in my car and would frequently use my car as an escape, a private place I could retreat to in order to just be by myself and feel what I was feeling without any restraint. One day, when I was driving my Mom to one of her cancer appointments, I decided I wanted to show my Mom this CD because of how much it meant to me. I'm normally very reserved about sharing my intimate music interests because I'm always worried people won't understand why a song or a CD is so important to me, that they'll just belittle it or make fun of me. But, What's The Use came on, and my Mom immediately says "oh, you listen to cool music," and reaches for the volume dial to turn it up. She was a classical child of the 60's that loved her AC/DC and her Phil Collins and all of that. But something about this tune invigorated her with the rhythm. After turning it up she started to dance in her seat and we both just started vibing to the rhythm. After it was over I told her why this artist meant so much to me and I told her all about my relationship with Mac's music which started in 2010. She cried as I told her about his untimely death and I ferociously had to fight the urge to breakdown as I told her about it. That's one of my last memories of my Mom. Listening to What's the Use and just sharing an infectious invigoration of rhythm. Every time I hear this song I'm transported to that car ride with my Mom. I wish I could tell Malcolm how much that means to me. I'll remember it until I die and there is no more important memory than this one. I hope you're both up there sharing in some music, having a cigarette, and watching the sunset. Thank you for that, Malcolm. Your music continues to touch, inspire, and change lives.

Being a true fan means not to be riding on someone popped of trend wavy and chasing clout in a frantic and hysterical hipsteresque group wearing his current success as accolades over does he deserves the fame or not balbalba. A true fan will truthfully understand the messages and emotionally vibe and motivation behind the piece of work. Hell be transported into all sorts of places if its a good and great artists that can truly carry themselves and their music. Hell even go so far as to buy the album and listen to it as was intended
