Try their C shades (C6, C7, C8…) I have olive undertones and it works so much better! Doesn’t oxidize orange at all!!

The NC42 looks great on you!! I used to wear NC40 but realized it wasn't warm enough for me so I switched to NC42.

i remember when i first went to mac to get my skin shaded for my tone. the makeup artist put me as nc 42, and when she first applied, i felt it was too light. then she said it'll oxidise, no worries. i listened to her despite my apprehension and bought my makeup, after walking around, within half hour, i noticed the make up oxidises so well and looks perfect on my skin lol

Hi Julianna, I find every one of those colours in skin tone. Thing is; no one's skin is completely uniform one colour. And it depends on how the the light/shade hits your face.. all given, I think you made a great choice.

I used the NC44 and found it oxidized to a shade that was too dark or red-orange looking. I switched over to NC40 and NC42 and found both of those blend out better for me.

Having a slightly darker shade on the face also makes it look pretty as it puts a slight tan on you which is natural for many colored people.

I love mac foundations and before you even applied it I knew your shade would be NC 42. I also hate how their foundations oxidize but the Mac matchmaster doesn't do that. You would be shade 5.0 in that. Give it a try.

I once had nc40 in studio fix-the undertone is not right, i dont have peachy undertones, i had the pro long wear in nc40 and it was to orange on me😵‍💫 i now ordered nc41 & nc42 to see how they compare. I used to mix the studio fix nc40 & pro long wear in nc40 and i think the color was a bit better, i think im more neutral yellow..im so confused 😄
