Unfortunately, the only solution is to update to MacOS Sonoma as Whiskey uses Apple's Game Porting Toolkit which only supports 14.0+. If your mac is Apple silicon you can try and use VMWare fusion as it is basically parallels but free or if you have an intel mac you can try Bootcamp.

@@MacGamingRevolution IDK, nothing related to wine/whiskey works on my system, for example bottle creation fails every time I try creating one in Crossover. While on Whiskey the run button doesn't even work, and when I try to open any exe file it just closes at the creation tab.

Unfortunately, Steam VR only works on intel mac and in a limited capacity. I also don't see any mention of it functioning with crossover or whiskey :( I will keep my eyes peeled though for VR news related to mac.

Hello! Does your mac recognize your controller, as in can you connect it to bluetooth and use it for mac native games? If your controller isn't an official xbox controller then it most likely won't connect to your mac.

Whiskey is odd with downloads at times. you could try and pause then resume the download and if that doesn't work then maybe restart whiskey.

A quick question, where was the whiskey 64 file?Also, you could try and completely wipe whiskey including ALL the supporting files and the application itself then redownload. You can delete the bottles from the whiskey menu, or, push installed programs and delete the games from there or if the game is downloaded through steam then launch steam through whiskey and delete them in steam.

Hello! You can run 32 bit games, but at greatly reduced performance (check out my fallout 3 video). I believe dx9 games also work!

From what I've heard, PS5 controllers are generally pretty well supported. I have an xbox one controller and it works better then keyboard and mouse!

In order to run Whiskey, you need MacOS Sonoma as well as an apple silicon Mac.

So I have a Macbook Pro with an M1 Pro chip running Ventura 13.6. From the research I found, it seems my chip is labeled as a Silicon. I went to the Whisky site and none of releases are compatible with my Mac. All I want to do is play some Windows Steam games (mainly Spore). Hello, I should've mentioned it in the video but Whiskey requires Sonoma as I'm sure you are aware of now. The best free alternative to crossover not including Whiskey is Porting Kit as it is basically an older version of crossover (and will run a bit worse then crossover as a result.) It does have nice UI though that makes installing games easy. You could also use VMWare fusion, a free Virtual Machine, but it is pretty complicated to set up. I hope this helps!

I got fallout new vegas on epic games for free with 6 dlc’s and i really dont want to just buy everything now on steam or gog to make it work. Maybe a pirate version is a consideration if they don’t let me do it normally

Hey! If you wat to run epic games games I would recommend heroic launcher. To play new vegas, though, you would need a windows virtual machine like VMware or crossover as new vegas is a 32 bit and those run horribly through crossover.

I've pulled it off with vmware thanks for the answer. Do you know how to reduce the stutter? I've installed epic games patcher and installed anti crash mod to even make it work past save file selection screen. Game stutters while playing on not high settings. @@Nythos You've done it all right, If you can get past to the gameplay with crashing then you're good, I had to put it into windows 7 compatibility mode, install NVAC and the script extender mods. I then had to install Nvidia d3d9 perf fix because the hair was invisible for me lol. To get rid of stuttering I cranked my settings ALL the way down. ALSO MAKE SURE to go to the Fallout.ini and set bUseWaterShader=1 to =0 this will get rid of stuttering.

I see what your saying, I always see people running it really well w/ high graphics on reddit or videos from Andrew Tsai. There might be some step they are doing that they didn't mention or they just simply have better macs with more ram. I only have 8gb so that severely impacts performance for me, idk about you. If you have a really cracked mac and are getting bad performance then there might be an issue in your VM settings. Also if you are running it through epic then make sure to close the launcher after booting up the game, i've found that improves performance. @@Nythos
