Manny is amazing, his channel is so perfect. But I honestly would LOVE if anyone in the beauty community would talk about how MAC, and many other commonly used high end brands, still test on animals.

melancholyoystergirl the problem isn’t that the brands test their products on animals it is that in some countries they are made to provide samples that the government then tests on animals. No product sold in the EU can be sold if tested on animals as it is illegal. Not buying a product in a different country where the laws are different is going to change that country’s testing process. For the corporations it’s probably easier to provide the samples than alienate a huge market share from an emerging economy such as China. I don’t know how the Chinese feel about it but perhaps pressure needs to be put on the governments that own the testing labs especially as synthetic replicant testing methods are becoming more sophisticated and testing on animals is not required. It’s a hard decision to make as a brand and I do think that China is being pressured by other governments and brands to stop with training and testing without animals completed in the last year with help from UK scientists. That said it is a step in the right direction towards the end of the state policy but may take some time. I do not claim to know why they would choose profit over ethics to enter a market however I do know that any product I buy here (at least until Brexit) has not been tested on animals and I’d really like it to be that way everywhere but until countries change their policies it won’t.

Melody Leigh Hi! You're definitely correct in the fact that some countries such as China require animal testing. But there are still so many other makeup companies, such as Urban Decay for one example that are able to remain cruelty-free anyway. They refused to sell to China because of those regulations and they're still surviving and thriving. So it's more than possible to maintain a business and remain cruelty-free. I only commented here because I think the KZbin beauty community is so strong and influential, and they should use that power to tackle this huge issue.

I've had a tough past couple months, being diagnosed with a spinal disease, a huge herniated spinal disc and an agitated sciatic nerve due to the disc herniation. Hi manny!! I absolutely love you and all that you stand for. I admire all the beauty influencers on KZbin just literally grinding and making shit happen for them. I wasn't aloud to wear makeup until I was 15 but honestly I would sneak in to my moms makeup and put some on as young as 7 if I remember correctly. Chaarrsmith bless u! Mris are the worst especially when they lock your head in that cage thing. I was really lucky bc the woman who stopped to help me almost ran me over. Back in hospital tomorrow to see how its healing itself. Ive been an epileptic for 5 yrs now (im 18), its tough but youre beautiful and strong so youll get there. Sending you lots of love and luck in 2018, I hope your seizures calm down and that you hopefully manage your other health implications and that you spend as little time in hospital as possible!! Xx

Megs W I know how you feel, so sorry to hear that someone else is suffering. I had an operation on my spine almost 7 years ago as I was in incredible pain and could barely walk. That helped a lot to begin with, but now the pain has been getting worse over the last year and I now have arthritis in both hips and my right knee too. I take 15 different tablets a day, including morphine and two different types of diazepam. I don't sleep well as I the pain means I can't stay in the same position for too long. I haven't been able to sit at my brand new leather and oak dining table, since I bought it just before my back collapsed. It's just too painful. It's now getting too painful to sit on my sofa, so like you, I spend most of my day in or on my bed. But I have 3 children still at home to look after, and I'm a single parent as my ex husband couldn't cope with a disabled wife, so I have to do things that I know will cause me pain the following day. Will your condition ever get better? Do you mind if I ask what is wrong? I won't be offended if you don't say. Wishing you the best Xmas possible anyway 🎄🎄🎄

Melanie Davis I’m so sorry to hear about what you’re going through, I’m not super comfortable talking about what happened but I will say that with most likely a front and back spinal fusion and rehab my spine should be good as new. I admire your strength ! Persevering to look after your three kids on your own. Honestly I’m sending you nothing but best wishes thanks for reaching out to share what you’re going through I wish it wasn’t happening to you but I also appreciate the reminder that I’m not alone in this.
