t'was a fine saturday in late spetember for a wee run doon nevis range. The claymore is indeed one hell of bike! Top Chief tripped me up , Pierrs gubbed his Mech on the 4th run and McTrail Rideer battked on through with that mighty bike to finish the day calamity-free! Well in Andy. 🤘🤘

I got my Claymore because of you (luckily got the order in just before the pinkbike review dropped) and absolutely love it! I was wondering when you will finally be showing off yours after I got mine mid November :)

Awesome to hear that you got one mate 👍 and yes, I think the demand went way up once that Pinkbike review came out, they really did love the bike.

Took me a few rides on my stage 6 evo to get my RXF 36 and TTX1 setup, but the bike feels epic now. Lovely suspension 👌
@McTrailRider2 жыл бұрын
The Ohlins is definitely different to other suspension that I’ve used, and it took me a very long time to get the setup on the forks right. Totally worth the effort though, as the suspension feel is excellent now👌

You should try and beat your Top Chief time set on your Highlander, best wait until spring and it's not under a foot of snow right enough🤣

I’m keen to give it a go, should be the fastest bike I’ve taken down Top Chief.

Cracking video as always. Be nice to see a timed run down Top Chief to compare with the Highlander. BTW, did @jonesemtb ever arrange anything with you for a proper ride in Scotland for the emtb channel?
@McTrailRider2 жыл бұрын
Very keen to set a Top Chief time on the Claymore, but will have to wait till next year now. Nothing materialised with Steve, but that’s not to say that something won’t ever happen in the future.

As for psi with tyre insurts I am around 110kg & I run nukeproof tyre insurts & on my Whyte G160 with Michael wild enduro's & the lowest I have run is 15psi rear 12psi front felt really good on the sloppy stuff most of the time I run 15psi front & 18psi rear on the rocky stuff I go up to 18psi front & 20psi rear.
@McTrailRider2 жыл бұрын
That’s some seriously low pressures! Should equal loads of grip. I found the bike to be quite slow rolling once I went lower than 18psi.
@yanmills2 жыл бұрын
@@McTrailRider yep it slows it down but better grip I find around 20psi is the best for me most of the time

Hi Mate how are the hope tech 4 brakes? I’m building up a claymore and still deciding what brakes to use.
@McTrailRider Жыл бұрын
Best brakes I’ve used tbh. I’ve got the v4’s with e-bike discs and the power is way better than the previous version.

Awesome Video! Can’t wait too see more Claymore content online. What is your Height / Frame size? I am in the process of ordering and at 182cm I am between Large / Medium. Appreciate any input, keep shredding 🤘🏼
@McTrailRider2 жыл бұрын
I’m 184cm on a large, and I feel it’s about perfect for what I do. The stand over clearance is fantastic, so sizing up is very easy to do.

I'm looking at getting the same bike/build as yours! How do you find coil compared to air shock on it! Ohlins looks like it's very easy to set up too!
@McTrailRider2 жыл бұрын
Good choice mate! I personally prefer the coil on the Claymore, I think it suits the intentions of the bike best.

Deviate has the sexiest bikes at the moment imho. How does it compare to the Highlander in your opinion? If you could have one bike only... Would you rather pick the Highlander or the Claymore (if you can say that already)

Can’t argue with that mate, they look as amazing as they perform. For the riding I do, the Claymore is definitely the bike that suits me more.
