Music notwithstanding (Take it or leave it. Mute buttons are handy!) it's good to see the process in real time. I've only ever had to repair screens on these types of Apples a few other times, but one I am workng on right now the glass is intact, the LCD itself is not. So this is the first time I have actually had to take apart the screen assembly. Thanks for giving the specs on what the heat gun puts out too. Very handy info!

Does the new display comes with the glue areas for the glass frame application? Or you have to reinstall it using the remained glue of the previous installation?

i just bought a macbook pro with the same display as shown here. There is a black spot in the center of the display when viewing screen caused by the plastic apple logo either being melted or pushed in on one corner. Looks like if I could get the logo back to normal position my black spot will disappear. Is there an easy way to do this without disassembly?

Does this screen have a rubber gasket around the outside of the external glass. e.g.. between the glass and the aluminum frame. If yes, does one have to be careful not to melt it with the heat gun, or tear it with the plastic pry-peices

As far as the cleanliness comments go....#1 the "dust" on the workbench seems to be out-of-focus screws. #2. The Screen on this computer IS the "glass". Nowhere for dust to get in between. It was a great tutorial....music aside!

Hi. Just wanted to ask my mac book screen is showing vertical lines. What could be the issue ? There was no physical trauma to it. When the screen is being adjusted the display improves. Can there be a connectors issue. I mean can screen problems be because of loose connector and you tighten it up and it becomes ok.

Help please. I accidentally yanked the camera connector off of the logic board instead of just unplugging the cable. Do you know if there's a way to repair this damage? Maybe solder it back on?

the mylar backing from the screen is a little warped in the corner from heat. i am thinking it will distort the image. can i replace it ? who has it for a MACBOOK A1425 Retina display 13" screen ?

Hi Friend, thanks for your. I have a MacBookPro 8,1 A1278 2010 says at the top and 2011 in the detail of software , core i5 4 of ram , screen 13 " . It happens that normally turns on fan startup sound and all but gives no video at all, is black screen , also does video to crank or start the system with an additional external display, but instead if I have video when I launch the single connected system the external display and disconnected from the motherboard native screen . this is why we tried to get the screen to try another but mori in the attempt and am with the trizado glass to one side, I guess for not hot enough the screen, by the way, a few degrees Celsius of temperature should I have my air gun welding to be enough and can draw the screen friend ?, then I hope I have not bored with my detail and can give me a hand with the prognosis or solution

I am having such trouble getting the LVDS cable to stay in, everything is working but it just comes loose every fuckign time I drop the LCD in. Got it to stay once, tested and everything was fine... reassembled only to find it came loose... so annoyed. I want to give up.

What a far cry from the cleanrooms that thing was probably first assembled in. That desk is filthy. I can only imagine the particles that were trapped inside that screen case. No gloves and that rough handling of that front glass leaves me thinking that it's got tons of fingerprints and dirt inside. This sent chills down my spine. better than any Stephen King novel.

Yeah .. just ripped out the hole Display. The protective glass screens only about a mill to 2 mills thick . Kind like an iPhone protective screen. It’s Also stuck the Adhesive about to the block border around the screen protector

+mick a i dont think so, but as far for the tehnology, original LCD is better then any LED (china copy). You cant just buy original screen. They are all copies. OEM can be sold only by apple, and they will charge a lot for replacement.
