A playful comparison of the new 2021 MacBook Pros (mostly) for developers. We look at Parallels and VSCode, how much space there is by default and how the notch effects things.

That's really funny 😅 btw 47 to 55 line is great but it isn't that much worth the weight 😁 instead of that i will carry 14inch with a external 15.6 inch portable monitor in portrait mode . That will fit more lines for sure 😅😅

I have to say I enjoyed this more than I expected. I think you're the first to use the "future you calling the current you" parody concept to highlight features of the 2021 MBP and it totally works. Funny, relatable and absolutely spot on all at the same time!

Hey, Alexander! That was very funny! Thanks for the video. Some people said that there are some applications that already deal with the notch, allowing for the app to go "real full screen". Does this behavior occur with other applications? I wonder if there's any "notch aware" applications out there.

I really appreciate you and your channel. Thanks for the work you do for us software developers. I would really like to see some other reviewers to focus on something else other than video editing. It is like the whole pupulation of the world were video editors. There are so many other things to test those machines against like digital art creation, 3d modeling, machine learning, mapping just to name a few.

Great video man! I was looking for something like this. However, still kind of confused if I can use an emulator and still see good amount of code in the editor opened side by side on the 14". I would be greatful if anyone can confirm that. Getting an external monitor is not an option for me.

You should’ve included how many columns each screen could show, with and without the left panels. Most developers use split screen for their code, so that’s an important thing to test.

Could you test connecting multiple monitors and closing the macbook in clamshell mode, putting to sleep and waking up the monitors with keyboard/mouse? That was a big issue on the m1, most monitors wouldn't wake back up.

Can we please stop bitching about the notch? I don't get it what is the problem. You can just set it as if it is not there and loose the screen real estate. If you take it you gain some and a part of the menu bar is missing which is normally empty anyways.
