McDermid. Wonderful initiative. 😁 Taking the helmet of a rookie, who scores in the powerplay. This is just the beginning of what Leo will do in the NHL. Bedard is very good too, but he's canadian, more known in North America. Leo Carlsson is more unknown, he will have a big impact on the team and the NHL if he stays healthy. Just as Bedard, who is seven months younger with HUGE expectations. Too bad both of them plays in struggeling teams.

Byram got absolutely trained earlier in the game, assuming a combo of thinking it was a dive and going after the Ducks young star since they had no real goon in the lineup. Glad Leo scored off it.

You must not watch much hockey. Both players have every single intangible that you could ask for but Carlsson has a higher ceiling than Bedard and it's obvious. You can't teach size and strength and Leo will always have the advantage in both areas.

Sports really shows how we navigate life with a subjective filter; Combine that with social media and we get the rapid growth of antipathy (fully on display throughout this comment section) and ramped fanaticism. That the modern American dream is built in the hyperreality paves the way into nothingness. But we are too distracted by it to care. Traditional and conservative values aren’t the solution, that is also based in a misconception of the issues at hand. Antipathy dissolves nuances and stunts democratic progression of societies. But, yeah. It is hard not to get emotional, and it’s also part of the fun in sports. We just need to better ourselves overall, now. Be the good.

When you start flopping thinking that no one will jump your ass because you're 18yo that's what happens. At some point someone will get tired of it and jump you. Just like the Montreal Canadiens had to jump Stutzle. He was diving and laughing it up after, he ain't doing it anymore.
@WahlgrenProductions5 ай бұрын
What are you talking about...? Should the 18yo levitate over the sweeping stick?
@DelaRosieTV5 ай бұрын
Talking about that it's a accumulation of diving plays that makes every penality provoked by Carlsson doubtful to the eyes of the opponent. From MacD's POV, it does look like yet another dive. So yea, it didn't need to be an obvious one at that point.@@WahlgrenProductions

Dermy doesn't go after a rookie skill guy because he thinks he flopped. Sorry. No one actually does that. The Refs police that themselves because it makes them look stupid. More likely he was mad about somebody cheapshotting Byram, and decided to make a statement that he *could* do something to Carlsson if he wanted to, which let's be clear, what happened here was nothing remotely similar to MacDermid jumping anyone's ass.

@LA-ly9mq5 ай бұрын
Lots of people in the comments here proving that they know very little about hockey. The fact that that was even called for a penalty is absurd. Worse stuff than that happens multiple times throughout the game and doesn't get called. And in most cases even if they do call it they just call both players to cool things down. The fact that McDermott got a penalty for this is a joke. Now if he would have thrown his gloves down and started swinging that's different but he didn't even do anything close to that.
@annihilationHaven5 ай бұрын
There used to be such a big difference in talent between the top draft picks and the majority of the league. Now everyone in the league can skate well and even Carlsson just looks ordinary. The difference now is how many complete players you have, meaning your defense needs to be just as good as your forwards at offense, and your forwards need to be almost as good as your defensemen at defending. Goaltending is almost irrelevant as their salaries are getting cut lower and lower each year.
