I so appreciate the way that you, Camden, and your guest are so careful and guarded with the respect you show to those who hold different views. That is a godly quality and characteristic that has been gone a long time in our churches. You're always so professional. Great job!

it's interesting reading about church history, I know machen was combating german higher criticism, and fosdick & union seminary. then on the other hand he had a problem with fundamentalists being extra biblical and not sola scriptura. and where machen said liberalism like to change meaning of words and confuse things. so you can see how a lot of things went downhill. Im still not sure how a person could deny the resurrection and call themselves a Christian, what would be the point of being a Christian without the resurrection?

@@bernieburns3404 The angels in their midnight song in the vale of Bethlehem had defined it briefly as sublimely, "goodwill to man." Its greatest preacher, the Apostle Paul, had no other definition to give of it. It was not even a rule of life but "grace," the "grace of God," and therefore sovereign, and boundless. But man's narrow heart could not enlarge itself to God's vast beneficence. A good so immense, so complete in its nature, and so boundless in its extent, he could not believe that God would bestow without money and without price; there must be conditions or qualifications. So he reasoned. This disposition - that of making God less free in His gift, and man less dependent in the reception of it: the desire to introduce the element of merit on the side of man, and the element of condition on the side of God - operated at last in opening the door for the pagan principle to creep back into the Church. www.ccel.org/ccel/calvin/treatise_relics.v.html

@@bernieburns3404 the fall shattered that image and it lies in dust and ashes, until grace alone restores it by justification. and the more sanctified the more it reflects God. palagianisum was refuted long ago in church history.

@@bernieburns3404 romanists became semi palagians. Among the early church fathers, it was noted that the offices of elder and bishop were identical, and were not differentiated until later, and that plurality of elders was the norm for church government.

"Of the making of books there is no end."--King Solomon. Christians read more books about the invented religion of "Christianity" than they read their bibles. (Survey: 89 percent have never read the whole bible. and the ones who have haven't bothered to study it or--heaven forbid--do it.) Maybe that's why they're so misinformed. I promise anyone reading this comment: Start with keeping the Sabbath on the correct day, all day. It's not your two hours in church. It's not your chore day. It's not the day for going out to dinner. If you'll do that, you won't be able to contain the blessings of insights into Torah and the closeness with your Creator.

8. This Sabbath is to be kept holy unto the Lord when men, after a due preparing of their hearts, and ordering of their hearts, and ordering of their common affairs beforehand, do not only a holy rest all the day from their own works, words and thoughts about their worldly employments and recreations; but also are taken up the whole time in the public and private exercises of His worship and in the duties of necessity and mercy. ex20:8-11,,, Neh13:15-22,, Is58:13-14,, Rev1:10 ,,Mt12:1-13,,,Mk2:27-28 Also check out reformation OPC you tube,,, any OPC on sermon audio,,,,,,, as for writing books Is it ok with you if a Minister writes down what he wants to say? Read Solomon in context He,s not talking about Christians spreading the good news....

@@crystalreddick5255 “”For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; and again in this passage, “They shall not enter My rest.” Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience, He again fixes a certain day, “Today,” saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before, “Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.” For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that. So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.”” - Hebrews 4:4-11
