Oftentimes as experienced textile artists, we tend to take shortcuts that work for us. However, being reminded of conventional methods, reinforces us of lessons once learned. Thanx

Thanks, I loved the hair clips idea. I have steered clear of t-shirts because of all the fabric bunching.

I frequently add embroidery to the baby quilts that I make.I find hooping to be a problem because of the large amount of fabric outside the hoop. Any tips on haw to handle this would be appreciated.
@EmbroideryLibraryEL Жыл бұрын
Short of floating (which we don't recommend in most cases), the best solution is to cut the fabric just big enough to fit your hoop, but not so large that it hangs over unnecessarily.

What type of stabilizer is best for satin stich embroidery on cotton fabric? Thank you in advance?
@EmbroideryLibraryELАй бұрын
We recommend using a medium weight cutaway stabilizer when embroidering on cotton!

My local fashion fabric and machine embroidery classes store teaches to add wash away to the back of your inner hoop so it sticks to your fabric for easier hooping. No shifting that way. ☺ No need to take the wash away off as the more layers of it, the better.

Interesting! We might try that out.

Does spray adhesive gum up the needle, or only if you use too much?

In our experience it has not.

@@EmbroideryLibraryEL the quilt is three layers, pieced top, batting and backing. Too thick to hoop.

People in facebook groups are telling other people to NOT use stabalizer, to only use Terlmagic on the fabric. I think that is a Very bad idea. Am I wrong?
@EmbroideryLibraryEL10 ай бұрын
People are always welcome to experiment. However, for best results, we recommend using stabilizer.

The explanation is very interesting for all to know, as a non-English viewer I politely ask you to speak a little slower please, and this to avoid having to watch three times to go along with your wonderful explanation, yes subtitles are ok but go with the speed of the spoken text, so....but we got it, though. Kind regards and keep it going.

Thank you for your feedback. Not to discount your comment, but have you tried using the feature that slows down playback speed? This may help, but we will definitely keep your feedback in mind for future videos.
