Rock was still mainstream in the 2000s as well, but electropop and EDM music kinda killed off rock (and RnB) music from the mainstream in early 2010s. The closest a rock band could do at the time was making sad indie type of music.
@fortheloveofmusic8603 жыл бұрын
It still is fire. Its far more popular then country and RnB. Its just being ignored by the AMAs (and the Grammy's). I'll put some truth out there for any of you not understanding why this man did what he did 3 nearly 4 years ago. This is of course not "written down factual" but tell me if you're following. Essentially, it was his mental health + a guilt trip of some personal truama and drugs that drove him to make the choice to target Em. On top of that, he went after G eazy due to girlfriend troubles, actually did go on to own him in the disses, and then with whatever was going thru in his life(what he mentioned in those bedroom freestyles) that all caught up with him. At that point (prior to dissing em), it was a full-focused-self-infliction-pathway, in terms of career(he has a broad music genre mix) and then his own rap genre suicide(which was included in that mix). The guy defintely was off some shit, and most likely was trying to plea for help, but was feeling like he needed atonement or to be shamed/ made a fool out of for 'whatever was going on in his life' and on top of that, came the celebrity package deal = Playing up to image, status, brand, other peoples ideas of ur success, u can assume the amount of headache that gets to these guys. Not the worst thing in the world, but can be hell if holding unresolved trauma but playing like you're doing alright. Essentially this man is very 'HUMAN' human despite his name being a piece of machinery, something which a lot of these new age fans roughly my age don't understand. He fucks up, tries to make something move, rushes it, sets unrealistic goals and gets disappointed when he doesn't reach them but he has reached many other goals prior to all that nonsense. Overall, he's conflicted and I hope the relationship with Megan gets him back onto a movement of positivty and allows him to return to music making in even the rap genre once again. He has switch genres multiple times in the past. All I'ma say is the problem defintely is, yes! The way he caused this on himself for something he thought he deserved but most likely didn't(basically it was the pain that made him bring himself down using "his greatest idol" + his celeb position to make that happen), but the real problem was actually the fans then followed by the media. And sadly the fans played a bigger part. I like some of MGK's tunes and even after that stupid diss sparked for no real fucking reason I understood this was a man that was mistreating himself and on top of that eminem already had enough shit from the industry that year, in fact he even brought on some artists influenced by him the year after in his album Kamikaze and after that also with Music 2 be Murdered just to make a statement of 1. how much he does actually want artists to flourish and 2. That MGK could've been one of those artists but he "fucked it" with the drunken mishap stunt, "Hey maaaan, you're daughter is fucking hot. All respect duuuude." So although this ain't all interview gathered information I'd like to believe that its not quite that far from the truth. And if I'm speaking honnestly, I will say I disliked what MGK was trying but Em went over the top however I can't blame him he's sitting back seeing how dumb the population will become and wondering how can he make people like real musoc again before system really grabs all the young by their peanut brains and turns em into debt slaves. Music influences far and beyond and people forget that. So I respect Em and in some regards can respect MGK for moving forward to something new. Can't respect his slipknot cusses but I do believe Megan will help him. Now its if he'll finally help himself thats the real question.

Still no apology to Corey Taylor
@thebrokejoke13793 жыл бұрын
He doesn't have to. Why apologize for not liking Corey's contribution to his own song? The idea of them together is great, but in reality they didn't fit. No apologies needed from either side. It's over.

Music award shows are a travesty. There are loads of better rock, indie, alternative, hardrock, punk and metal artists that made better albums and songs in 2020/2021. It says it all when a genre (with all its subgenres), that is far more popular then country (who have five categories), only has one lousy category. They just hate rock and its artists. Rock music made up about 21% of all music sales/streams in 2020.
