Love that you guys are on this mgk journey. He’s catalog is so deep and diverse. Check out any and all of Hotel Diablo or General admission (especially Alpha Omega) for rap. And anything on tickets to my downfall for his pop punk. Also highly recommend “Blue skies live at park Ave cds” for an intimate live performance of some old songs.

The main reason he changed his name is to mark a new start to life he doesnt want to be his old self he is now christian and wants to focus on providing a better future for his daughter to thrive in and be a rolemodel for her unlike who he used to be

@@DoubleTakeJC I am a massive MGK fan but that has a lot to do with his album Hotel Diablo which got me listening to him it came out when i was going through a lot in life he really helped motivate me to keep going and following from that into the lockdown sessions I am very thankful i Gave him a listen and that he exists he has been such a massive imprint on my life and such a hero to me he does so much for his fans and for other rappers he is so down to earth. I may research almost all teh artists i listen to but I know basically everything there is to know about MGK you can find on the internet because this man is just a walking motivational poster even when he was spiraling through his Hotel Diablo album and very obviously near not aliving himself he found a way to relate to people and to help give them hope using his depression as a weapon to fight instead to give up. To think he lost so many people leading up to the 2019 release of Hotel Diablo its crazy to see he came out of it stronger he lost his aunt who raised him, he lost Nipsey and Chester and Mac Miller. than when it seemed like he was getting better he lost his dad a year later which crushed him again. I could not imagine living in a world where it feels you have nothing left and he was dealing with backlash from the eminem beef and still does to this day. Megan Fox I swear it to be is the person who saved his life one of the only people who stuck it out with him through his entire low and helped him get off hard drug use and to help him start seeking therapy. This man has such a crazy and powerful story and it is so motivating to see someone go through all of this and still have a smile on there face and be able to see the sunshine again. Being someone who has suffered from chronic depression I look up to MGK on so many levels if he can make it work there is no excuse I can't you know. I have always wished to be a motivational speaker sadly those possibilities are not in my cards at this point of my life.
