I don't fully agree with that statement. I feel like it shows your personal growth attaches to specific artist. I was raised on country but I started listening to eminem and slowly went away from country. Similar to how I am with MGK. I enjoyed them both but felt a stronger pull to MGK and now I don't listen to Em wasn't something that was intentional just wound up happening and showed a real life growth.
