In my opinion, that song pioneerd the modern beat down section that many bands use... crushing it all in the end with the groove, relentless. At that time, and I bought their CD in 1993, it was NEW and neckbreaking. It is still the best Metal outro, stepping out of the carnage, unphased by the flames and debris. Long time fan here.

@@fredriksvard2603 Completely with you. But The Blackening remains top tier in terms of technique and overall atmosphere imo, their Magnum Opus. The band has great skill when they put their minds to it, but most records only feature some of their best tracks out there. It gets repetitive really quick, especially on the older outputs. Only The Blackening managed to keep me captured from start to finish upon first listening. Especially since I had only recently entered music school to learn e-guitar when they dropped this monster of an album. You get a wholly different level of attachment to a band when you are determined to let them (and others) be your motivation whilst learning an instrument ;)

This is one of the most powerful songs you guys ever did. The energy in this is absolutely amazing and it scared the living shit out of my friends back then when the album came out and I kept listening to it nonstop :D Of course, they all turned out to be fans later on. Keep on rocking guys!

I have to say how great it feels to see this lineup playing what I think of as their "signature" song...having Mader there and Kontos who turned the sticks over to Dave McClain to start playing on The More Things Change (McClain is undeniably great, but the percussion on Burn My Eyes done by Kontos is the backbone supporting that albums standing as legendary). Burn My Eyes was a defining watermark in heavy music during the 90's, I wore grooves into that album, I played in bands where we covered Davidian and Blood for Blood during our shows. SO. MUCH. INSPIRATION. Yeah I can't express how pivotal it is.
