What a cool design! Thanks for breaking it down so simply. I would have never guessed this was as straightforward as it is!

Isn't it funny how we often make things harder than they are? Glad you like the design

Yes! You would use the "wrap and turn" method of partial knitting across the rows.

Amazing! I have a Bond Ultimate Sweater Machine that I’m relearning after over a decade of not machine knitting. I *think* I would be able to make this scarf on my (very basic) Bond. One day, I’ll try it.

Great! As long as you understand how to set your machine to hold and the concept of short rows (partial knitting) this will be a fun project for you to get back to machine knitting.

Thank you so much for your video! This is just what I was looking for! Would it be possible to do a hand-knit tutorial for this scarf? Thank you!!

I'm sorry, writing hand knitting instructions is not in my zone of genius.

Do you have a recommendation for a good machine? i have two circular knitting machines but no long bed ones and i love this concept
@KnititNOW2 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve! A flat bed knitting machine will open a whole new creative world for you. There is quite a bit of information about machines in general here learnmachineknitting.com/ In addition to lots of used machines being available, I can recommend the Taitexma machines www.knititnow.com/path/1485/taitexma These are clones of the old Brother/ Knit King machine brand, made in Taiwan.

Do you have any idea what yardage this uses? I'd love to make one in a really wild hand-dyed yarn but can't picture how much I would need to make a good length scarf.

Here'a a link to the free pattern. bit.ly/2QbYKuX Included are some notes about yardage. Look for the link "Knit it Now notes for customizing the pattern"

Is there a possibility to knit it by hand?
@KnititNOW Жыл бұрын
Yes, you would work the "spikes" the same way with short rows - "wrap and turn" in hand knitting language.

is there a way to make this happen without the eyelets?
@vonmorley16973 жыл бұрын
You should be able to wrap the yarn around the needle to prevent holes or try raising a needle at the carriage side so it auto wraps the needle.
@suejalowiec82323 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can wrap while you are working the short rows to prevent the holes
