id quite like to see where this goes :) i've just handed in my final thesis for university where ive compared state machine, behaviour trees and machine learning for game AI. I used reinforcement learning for that and i'd say its ideal for game environments but this was my first time doing anything with machine learning
@PythonSimplified3 жыл бұрын
That's awesome! 😀 I actually have a bunch of questions when it comes to Reinforcement Learning, I wonder if you can maybe help me with a few? 😁 In your experience, how easy it is to run these models outside of a game environment? And are there any limitations to prevent these type of models to train on websites rather than games? (sorry for bugging you, I've been curious for a while 😅)
@pixies643 жыл бұрын
@@PythonSimplified unfortunately I'm not experienced enough I learnt only about ml agent with in unity and the research I covered was game related. But to hazard a guess I'd say there was no limitation, if you could find a specific obsivation, have an action for it to try and reward it it would learn. The limitations from what I gather is just what's hard codes before training, but I could be wrong :). And not bugging at all I enjoyed learning about it and defently going to continue looking into machine learning

Hi Jigar, I'm not sure how the High-Tech market in Canada looks like these days, I'm self employed now, but I can tell from experience that the pandemic hit the junior developers the most. If you have a degree in Computer Science, I suggest to try applying for a few distant jobs just to see how they respond. If you're still learning - I recommend to reach out companies for apprenticeship/internship as so many businesses are still working from home and you may not have to even immigrate to land a job, just prepare a really good cover letter 😀 Otherwise, it's a tough market without a degree in CS or substantial working experience, at least at this point of time...

Hello Maria, I am interested in Reinforcement Learning as I am an aspiring game developer and would like to explore the capabilities of an AI in game worlds. Now in response to your comment on concerns with Reinforcement Learning, I can certainly see where you are coming from. However with careful planning and safeguards, it shouldn't be a problem.
