Good job with the lathe, thinking of getting a lathe around that size
@Aussie505 жыл бұрын
quite expensive since they are hobby size, but occasionally you can snag a cheapie that the seller does not know the value of. especially if its missing motor, 3 phase or not running, since your probably going to put a drive on it anyway.

Great to have more videos from you Ed, keep them coming when you can mate, there are many of us that do appreciate all the effort you go to and would be very sad if you stopped making videos as you suggested you might. At the end of the day you have to do what's right for you but I for one would definitely miss your wonderful videos so hope you will feel able to carry on making them. Best wishes to you from here in the UK 🇬🇧

I think I mis-worded that vid a bit, (and had a few too many festive beverages lol) I was not going to kill off the channel or anything, but the full ressurection and regular content idea did fall flat, but I will keep doing odd updates from time to time. like this one.

You should be able to get replacement scales; they generally output quadrature. the thing to look for is voltage and counts/inch/cm but otherwise should be interchangeable (not counting connectors).
@Aussie505 жыл бұрын
good point ,the Fagor looks like it uses the same pin-out, just different connectors

What do you think about the geek group going under?
@Aussie505 жыл бұрын
Had to happen sooner or later, surprised its not as severe as it could have been knowing what has gone on in the past. I feel for the staff, must be hard getting out when you barely make enough to eat and keep a roof over your head :(. Its lucky Doogie had so much help and support or he would probably still be trapped in Mi

@Aussie505 жыл бұрын
shredded a serpentine belt pulley today, its at a friends shop getting poked at tomorrow, hopefully its just an idler, not the AC, alt etc, that stuff gets expensive. other than that I have put about 5,000km on it so far and its been good. pretty loud and obnoxious with the exhaust and intake opened up a bit, but I love it :D
@55kompressor5 жыл бұрын
Aussie50 haha let’s hear that exhaust!

@@55kompressor Its off the road now, they changed a couple of pulleys but it did not fix it, Alternator bearing went full-nuclear thismorning and its the turbo making nasty screaming noises, both need to be replaced ASAP :(. back to driving the RAV4 daily. not a bad car either, just not a turbo diesel

Just because its Chinesium doesn't mean its rubbish. A lot of the time it is, but there is some decent shit out there. I've got some chinesium Sutton-off brand drill bits, and they're fine for hand drilling because they don't wear out, they just get chowdered right to shit, so I'd rather spend not as many of my hard earned New Zealand dollers on drill bits I don't mind snapping (although I still give the obligatory "FUCK" when I snap my 5mm drill bit)

You need to replace that ally for cast iron That will sagg over time giving false readings
@Aussie505 жыл бұрын
they get zeroed every time and I have never seen evidence to show ally sags, especially nice crisp aircraft grade stuff, really soft annealed ally I can see being pretty annoying but this stuff is close to cast iron in hardness.
