Grimble Grumble that’s sort of a stretch. Soooooo many people beyond shpongle use that sort of vocal sound. I think the thought process here was hearing the acapella, thinking “oh nice vocal run, gonna use that as a fill.”, and auto tuning/warping it to taste. I’d bet a considerable sum that it’s from the same acapella as the main vocal too. www.whosampled.com/Machinedrum/ If you are looking for influences, his sample choices are going to be 40% more revealing. I would highly doubt shpongle would be up his alley (nothing against them). I’d say the biggest influence on his sound is Chicago footwork, his experience playing in marching band/ensemble drum groups, etc, adult swim bump music, and various idm or hip hop productions. I’m no expert by any means, though.
