Machinery Tour | Tractors and Tools We Use on our Small Dairy Farm

Many of my viewers have asked for a video about the machinery we use on the farm so here is a short machinery tour video.

Farmer's POV (Point of View) is a channel where I want to share videos of different chores that are going on on our small family farm in Slovenia. We have 60 heads of cattle, mainly simmetal breed and we milk about 35 of them. We farm in a fairly hilly area so our equipment is relatively small. Currently we own 4 tractors: Fiat DT55-56, New Holland TN70DA, Deutz Fahr Agroplus 85 and John Deere 5085M.We work around 20 hectares of mainly grass fields and about 2,5 hectares for silage corn. We also have 7 hectares of forest.

Great video as always..like seeing the difference in farm equipment used by others and whats same as we use here. We had a drum mower before the disc ones came out.. you moved it by hand. Actually did better job of mowing hay than the disc ones do. Only 5ft though... Thanks again and take care

I live in a quite flat country and sometimes just wonder how steep some of your fields are. It looks like some are quite steep. Is that ever a problem for the work? Wishing you a great year.

Yeah some areas are pretty steep. Of course, it can be deadly, tractor can tip or start to roll downhill if the ground is too wet or even too dry (lack of traction)... Thanks, to you as well 🙂

i have a question you have a 55hp tractor that you can palnt corn with four row planter and why you then use two row planter is it more efficient or somthing else

Yeah when my father was buying a planter he decided to go with two rows instead of four, we have a field that's pretty steep in some areas... I might upgrade to 4 rows but we really don't plant much so it's just fine as it is 😉

Ok, yes then you need a front hydraulic. Then you can also mow with two mowers

I really enjoyed seeing how it all is organized on your farm :) Can see the passion in it. My favorite machine is definitely your Fiat there, that's little brother to my New Holland 80-66S DT. Congrats, you kept in pretty good condition for so many years. However, I still can't believe the tractor hasn't worked even 2 thousands hours, I know new tractors has got those faster counters on motohours than old but still, like how so little? 👀

Thank you 🙂 yeah it didn't work a lot, we had Deutz Torpedo, also 55 hp, with front weights and widened tracks so it was more suitable for our terrain 🤔
