The promo talent from the Golden Era was off the charts. Savage, Roberts, Dibiase, Hogan, Piper, Flair, and yes I’m gonna throw Warrior in there too......because for the character he had, his promos were undeniably entertaining. It’s crazy how low the bar for promos has fallen in todays business. You might get an outstanding promo every now and then. But it was just another day in the Golden Era.

I honestly thought Randy Savage was going to try to MURDER Jake Roberts at ANY WWF (as it was called at the time) live event. I was ACTUALLY hoping to be on the jury at Savage's trial as well so that I could find him NOT guilty because after the way Jake DISRESPECTED wrestling by bringing cocaine into the business, harming snakes, and putting his hands on Elizabeth, it would have been a JUSTIFYABLE homicide.

After having the awesome bandanna, sunglasses, trunks and robe gimmick I never understood why he switched to the neon cowboy with flecks gimmick. In my mind the cowboy gimmick was a step below, even though today it is instantly recognizable. It was just too goofy a look for me for such an intense and dramatic wrestler.
