HBK Hogan is actually Shawn Michaels mimicking Hulk Hogan. He made a promo making fun of Hulk Hogan. As for his finisher, even Hulk Hogan said yeah kind of wish I had a different finishing move. Terry "Hulk" Boulder was how Bollea first wrestled, when he was starting out in regional territories, before his initial late 1970s WWWF heel run. Then he hooked up with Ed Leslie (now known best as Brutus Beefcake) and they were Terry "Hulk" Hogan and Ed "Dizzy" Hogan. Ichiban is from when Hogan went to Japan after being a heel in WWWF and the AWA and became a hugely popular face for the first time. He recorded a song in Japan, entitled "Ichi-ban", which means "Number 1" in Japanese.

Even though both men went on to have greater matches ever since, Randy had his share of inner demons especially when he recalled losing his World Heavyweight title to Hulk Hogan. In this particular rumble, Savage wasn’t going to settle with beating Hogan only once… but twenty-nine times over to finally secure a spot in the champion’s rumble. Unfortunately for Randy, it was as if destiny decreed that he was not only always going to lose to Hulk Hogan, but he still has a long way from ever reaching a champion’s rumble. In the end, out of twenty-nine different renditions of Hulk Hogan it would all end up with ‘one’ specific Hogan securing his spot… Hulk Hogan who came in known as ‘NIKE’ Hogan, as if to answer the question: What would happen if Hulk Hogan was suddenly a spokesperson to promote NIKE related merchandising? It happened before with Michael Jordan when he promoted his own line of clothing products after his basketball run came to an end. In his prime, Hogan always encouraged us to take our vitamins in hopes of staying in shape and what better line of clothing to promote the need for fitness in our daily regime than NIKE products? Regardless of whether Hulk Hogan was as great at commercialism as Randy Savage when he promoted ‘Slim Jim’ meat products, Hulk Hogan has had such a personality regardless of if fans acknowledge the controversy surrounding the man or still remain fans of his despite all the drama. It’s not often for Hulk Hogan to partake in a champion’s rumble either way, and this could be the season where he truly takes his moment to shine. But who was my MVP of this Savage versus Hogan rumble? Let’s get down to the numbers: Of the twenty-nine Hogans and one Savage featured in this match, only FOURTEEN Hogans secured the most eliminations (One Hogan short of the halfway mark). The highest count of the afternoon reached ‘7’ eliminations, which is six slots higher than the average ‘1’ elimination. Of course, since nearly every elimination was done by a Hogan in some form, Hogan has secured a total of ‘28’ eliminations as a whole and Savage had… zip. I give the Golden MVP award for ‘coolest’ performance to: The Hulkster Imagine if Hulk Hogan literally lived up to ‘The Hulkster’ name either promoting some form of Hulk merchandising and various media. I would’ve easily pictured Hogan promoting ‘The Hulk’ from the 1990s, which to me was one of the ‘best’ renditions of The Hulk I’ve seen growing up. To think, this version ‘almost’ secured a place in the champion’s finale, but this was definitely one of the best Hogan performances as a whole (Not excluding the winner). The nominees for the ‘Dull Participation Medal’ for the ‘lamest’ performance are: Hawk Hogan… and the O.G. Hulk Hogan. Just as successful as Hogan was in this match, at least one participation medal is given to one of the Hogans who performed the poorest. Since it’s very difficult to choose between these Hogans, I may as well choose the one I didn’t really like… and that has to be the Hawk Hogan performance. While I get the creator tried to at least make him close to the late ‘Hawk’ as possible… maybe it would’ve been better if he fought with his spikes. Honestly, I think I’d rather have seen Hulk Hogan’s ‘Dave Dragon’ in this match (It was a very poor movie, but it was kind of a guilty pleasure for me). After what nearly feels like an eternity, Hulk Hogan is storming his way into the champion’s finale… in Nike training gear. In the meantime, we ask the following questions: Will Randy Savage ‘ever’ win a rumble to get into the finale? Is there room for ‘other’ WWE icons to secure their mark in this series? If not actual wrestlers, is there some theme within the media this series hasn’t even explored yet? And the biggest question of them all: Who’s next?

FYI, Hogan wasn't the first wrestler to make it big in movies....Terry Funk was in a ton of movies prior to Hogan and was very successful. I'm sure there were others, but Funk was one of the main characters in Roadhouse and he was on a bunch of TV shows as well.
