the double clutching reminds me of driving our old willys.

Great truck, great looking interior, I know i had a 71' Mack with a 350 small cam Cummins with a 13 speed, not original power, but pretty much everything else was, Great old horses. BUILD LIKE A MACK will last forever

I drove a B-85 open-cab pumper for Willow Grove Volunteer Fire Company (PA) back in the mid 70s. Can't say I was sorry when that truck got replaced with a newer Mack with the Maxidyne diesel/5 speed combo.

O-H-I-O Porters shout Happy New Year 🇺🇸 2024🥰Ok now, you gave a teaser…I’m gonna do a walk-around & then it goes blank! I did enjoy the ride along though. Double-clutching, oh yeah! I was 15 & looked at a Mack tandem tractor. I wanted a tuck so bad, but thought the old girl had been so abused. The owner wouldn’t fire it up for me & I got mad on the spot. Love the old B model Macks though. I’ve been a tuck lover since I was a kid. Sounds like you sold this Mack. Hope to see what it looked like on the outside. The view in the back window was rather interesting. Blessings my friend! 🥰😎✌️

I drive a Peterbilt and CNC machines. I program and operate and sometimes deliver to my customers. A warm strong handshake always says more than my words can as I have been shifting gears and untethering your new product. The Boss delivers your new kit? It has to be a Pride moment. All I know is this. They need support? I am right next door. American Made.

Yep I think this truck is a 5 speed it drove one many years ago and you can float the gears just have to be slow
@bulldogchaser323010 ай бұрын
I drive them quite often and it's not impossible but very difficult and not worth it. That clutch pedal isn't that hard to use

I heard you can’t float gears in those old trucks.
@bulldogchaser3230 Жыл бұрын
It's tough. Mack transmissions do not shift fast and the 5 speed has a long way between gears.
@realmccoy2269 Жыл бұрын
Pitt Ohio Macks used to use 300's with 5 speeds. They could be floated, but it took a LOT of practice. Even then you'd be growled at if you were off slightly

This isn't like shifting a 5 speed maxitorque behind a Maxidyne. Completely different animal

Is that a 5 speed ?

I don't know who in the hell designed the cab of that truck but they sure is hell didn't design it for a full grown man
@andrewdoran457211 ай бұрын
The guy driving the truck isn't fully grown as such. He is clearly obese and makes the cab look small. The cab clearly therefore was designed for men of " normal " and average stature.....as they should be ;)
@douglasheckler799711 ай бұрын
Back in its day the average man was 5'6".

That replaced the "L" cab. and the L cab was big and comfortable. Seemed kind of like they went backwards
