Went last weekend and came back with 7 decent sized sculpin and my goodness they were delicious. Also caught some sand dabs and blacksmith perch #jerksquad. oh yeah, and the winner of the jackpot caught what had to be at least a 20 lb trigger fish

I’ve caught striped bass, mackerel, lobster, crab and leopard sharks. I like going there. Open 24hrs and the pier reaches far out. You should check it out.

Nice video bro. Caught some small mackerel using sabiki rig and filet a few with skin still on. Will pan fry tomorrow. Few smaller ones will be used as bait on next time out. Maybe dust a little corn starch to make them crispy.

Just a old trick when preparing mackerel (my mom told me). Simply salt it, and leave it for 24 hours. Then bake as usual. The flavor of the salt having permeated the meat makes mackerel taste SO (naturally) good. I too like garlic and pepper, but there is NOTHING like eating mackerel the way I mentioned.

Hello fellow fisherman, the mackerel is good eating fish when you try the spanish style recipe cooked in a pressure cooker. This way, the fish bone turn soft and great to eat it with jasmen rice. Try it and the ingredients are peppercorns carrots, olive oil, bay leaves, green olives (pickled) lots of garlic and two spoons of salt. Set the cooking time for 30 minutes and enjoy. Oh i forgot to add hot peppers if you want it spicy. Also, you can prep the macks in small 2 inch pieces in a brime of salt for 30 minutes, then wash before going in the cooker. Some people frown about eating mackerel. ...often called garbage fish. ...not in my opinion tho. ....tastes great to me. ..makes for great bait also. ....caught big catfish using mackeral as bait. ...not a garbage fish in my opinion if you pay 5 or 6 bucks for one. ....good video bro 👍

I’ve caught prolly hundreds of these mackerel in my life. Never eaten them. Here’s a tip: I sometimes keep a few to use as catfish bait. ( catfish love mackerel) or to go crabbing up Oregon.

Nice video bro! The fish you caught were chub mackerel, horse mackerel and sardines. For the best flavor from any fish you wanna cut their gills while the heart is still beating to bleed them out in saltwater as the blood/blood line is where the fishy taste comes from. You can also use coarse salt on them to get rid of the slime. Make sure that slime is completely gone when you cook or it’ll throw off the flavor as well. Would recommend bleeding mackerel out, heavy seasoning and prefer to pan fry them so they get crisp.. just a recommendation. nice vid keep it up...... idk about this one but I heard to let them sit in sprite for a hour, heard that it makes them less fishy. Should honestly try all these tips and see if it’s a difference, keep it up man

Just discovered your channel. Great videos. Just a heads up, regarding mackerels...make sure to clean and cook the mackerels well. Most mackerels have live worms in the intestine cavity. The worms are tiny and needle like. Either than that, enjoy the fish.
