'Match the hatch' comes from fly fishing for trout, when you you choose your fly to match the kind of insect that is hatching out of its larval stage because that's probably what the trout are going to be after. Loving your vids guys!

OG fly fishing what was hatching was the lure or fly pattern to use…in saltwater get your lure as close to the bait fish squid or prawn in da water. Keep on root’ n wrighty ha ha

Spot on XE, it’s an old fly fishing term: identify which bugs are currently hatching (and therefore what the trout are feeding on), match your fly pattern and away you go.

Match the Hatch, using the right bait for the desired catch. You said that when Bronte mentioned there was bait, so you could use a similar lure to catch their predator :)
