That campground is so nice. Large spots and so green. Mackinaw is the place we want to go. So lovely! Arch Rock is cool. Good to know- We will definitely take our bikes. We were very lucky with Scout on the road; especially after he had kidney disease. The vets in whatever area we were in were really good about communicating with Scout's vet. Great old village, museum and lighthouse. Love lighthouses.
@oureverydaygetaway2 жыл бұрын
One of our favorite campgrounds for sure. So much to do in the city and island. On our list of places to go back to one day. Don't think they allow e bikes but don't take our word for it. You can rent bikes on the island for the hour or day. That's what we did and loved it! We couldn't get a vet to see him due to not being from the area so thankfully we were able to get his medicine shipped. Hate to see any animal in pain. Had no idea we would like lighthouses so much! Thanks for watching! Take care!

I’m originally from MI and went to the island many times. You went at the right time, Summer after kids get out of school is too busy. Our Labrador has the same ear issue, our vet told us it’s because they have flappy ears and retain moisture which of course causes infections. Hope enjoy tour MI it’s a lot like Maryland.

I'm so jealous that you all went to Mackinaw Island...I grew up about 50 miles south of Mackinaw City along Lake Michigan and every summer I would take a trip to the Island....I even would stay a few times at the Chippewa Hotel and have a drink or two down stairs at the Pink Pony. Looks so beautiful and that water looks so nice. I now live in Florida and don't get back home that much especially of late and I do miss it a lot.

I can only imagine the wonderful memories you must have growing up in the area visiting the island every summer. We wanted to stay overnight at one of the hotels on the island but couldn't because Tucker is traveling with us. So instead we went back a second day and road bikes around the island. Riding bikes around the island was very enjoyable in our opinion. Thanks for watching! We very much appreciate it. Stay safe and enjoy any day you can getaway!

Just found your channel, Mackinaw Mill Creek is one of our favorite campgrounds up near the Mackinac Bridge. Nice place with great views and very fair with their prices. We stay in the same area of the park as you did even though in May the breeze coming off the lake can be a bit cold the views make it worth it.

This will be our 19th consecutive year going to and staying on the island in August. For anyone going there try to allow time to get out and away from the tourist trap stuff by taking the time and effort to discover the islands interior foot trails. The countless trails will take you to places and sights that 90% of tourists don’t experience. PS Great Turtle Brewing Co. is the place to go for food & drink!

I bet the island is beautiful in August. In Saturdays video we take a bike ride around the island. It was a special day for sure. Next time we'll ride through the islands interior foot trails. Katrina, I love your food reviews and your face. You are awesome. I take it that Chris didnt let you buy what you want lol because there was no footage and you were on the ride next. The budget, the budget, the budget and you weren't carrying anything lol. When we were there we just rented bikes all around the island for the day. Great shots with the water in the rock. Aw poor little Tucker I'm so sorry. That is a little ears were messed up. That's awful that he has to go through that. He is such a great doggy. I love the foghorn Tour and I agree 100% with Katrina. I hate touristy stuff. I love things like this. Did you have your eyes checked again because you shouldn't be having that many floaters you get some and then down the road you may get some more but usually have time to get used to them. How are you doing now and have you seen an eye doctor again? We've been in dozens of lighthouses. I remember going in. It being 8 months pregnant with Rachel and 8 months pregnant with Rebecca. White House's are the best thing because you get a really good view of the entire area. It's fun to always hear the history of them. And they're very majestic. Another great video guys!!!!
@oureverydaygetaway2 жыл бұрын
I still have floaters but not as many. Wearing sun glasses seems to help. The lighthouse was an unexpected fun place to tour. We are definitely putting "touring lighthouses" on our list of things to do. Thanks you! Hope you guys are doing well!

Even New York City! I don’t know why you hate me this way other than the way you talk about places! @oureverydaygetaway2 жыл бұрын
Hi David! This is Chris. First of all, thank you so much for subscribing to the channel. If you feel the need to unsubscribe, that's fine. Katrina and I think it's important to always tell the truth. That's just how we both were raised. Her parents being dairy farmers and mine being blue-collar hard-working people. All of them instilled a sense of right, wrong and a good work ethic. Every place we go to will not be great or good. Every product we buy for the RV will not be worthy of praise just because we bought it and will do a review. I'm sure you would agree, if we bought a product for the RV, did a review you would want us to tell you and the other viewers the truth. I refuse to sugar coat anything about life. As a cancer survivor I wanted my cancer team to tell me the truth about my prognosis. We believe in everyone's right to voice their opinion and we respect yours. And by the way, things are great for us, we are truly blessed. Take care and best of luck to you.

Dave, no problem I will try to improve on the mic. I apologize if I came across a little irritated but I felt like I didn't get my moneys worth. Please feel free to always voice your opinion we very much like to hear back from everyone no matter good or bad.

David....I really don't understand being upset at someone for stating their opinion of someplace or something, that is NOT being negative, that is simply reporting what they thought of the place/thing. That is exactly what I want to hear from them, what they thought .
