Traverse city is insanely expensive in the summer. When I biked through there there is a state park on the edge of town. The tunnel of trees is a great route to Macinac city

Always getting great deals! Those motorcycles are awesome, imagine crossing the country with a 100 years bike... Amazing episode! And, yeah, once you go on a bicycle tour it's hard to go back.

Watching your videos has gotten me thru this winter and i cant wait to get back on the trails again. As for the riders not saying hello back, its not you at all. Riders seldom speak as they seem to be in their zone or just dialed into their STRAVA.

Strava?? I am often told I need to get into this platform but something tells me not to. The "hello" issue is really not. I love engaging with people even though they at times don't do it back. The ones that do make up for it plenty. Spring is just around the corner.

Lots of amazing scenery and route tips. 4:15 is a Patreon "Easter egg." What a treat with the Polish guy and pre-1929 motorcycle group. Viva Polonia! It's comical to hear you say hello hello hello hello hello hello hello. I'm sure the people have reasons for not returning the courtesy. People in zones, can't hear because of headphones, or tired of saying hello when they are trying to have conversations.

The 27th episode in Cycling USA 1, you were in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. That's 1850 miles to the west of where you are now in Cycling USA 2! I'm sure lots of great videos are in store for us. But you got to start hightailing it the finishing point. Plus, where will cycling USA 1 and 2 overlap?

You gotta admit I was kind of annoying. Not sure I would say hello back to myself if I was one of them. Well, I would Im sure. Gotta keep a sense of humor 😉 "rubble rumble", you know? Polish Bartek was so cool. I would have enjoyed having a beer with him and hearing more about the vintage bikes.

Dude, do you ever pick up on the details. I definitely was feeling the crunch of an ending summer and the threat of winter ruining my chances at climbing over the Rockies thru Colorado. I was doing what I could to reach Duluth and move on southwest as soon as I could. It all ended up working out but not without close calls with two legit fall/winter storms that put me to the test. The overlap is a twenty mile stretch form 1880 Town to Kadoka. A 99 mile day with insane scenery.

FSR: I am still thoroughly enjoying the ride along. I particularly smiled at this segment since we may well have passed each other along the way. We had taken a day trip to the Eastern Upper Peninsula. While recrossing the Bridge, we encountered the antique motorcycle group that you featured. Your next section, area code 906, is God's. Keep riding and sharing.

Hi Robert. I wish we would have crossed paths. I was very intrigued about the eastern part of the lower peninsula. I originally was going to ride thru the easter/central part of it but opted on heading towards M22 instead. Maybe another time. The vastness that Michigan offers is mind blowing. You can spend a whole summer doing circles up there. Especially in the UP. Thanks for reaching out.

Hi Peter. That's too good about the interstate travel. I actually enjoy it as long as it's not way busy as it gets too loud. Great tip is to keep headphones in your ears even if you don't play music. Keep the noise down. Good for you for planning your tour for this summer. Michigan is a great place to ride thru. Wait until the Upper Peninsula episodes with changing Maple trees and insane scenery. Might want to consider riding from the west and enjoying more tailwinds.

@FlyscoutRyder2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mikael. I don't think they are being rude at all. I would be assuming and I try very hard never to do that. It could be that they are listening to music on the headphones, talking with one another and not quick enough to respond to me as I fly by, riders in that area don't frequent greetings and I catch them off guard, rather not engage so as to not draw someone to intrude into their space, etc. I would say that the cycling community is extremely friendly and that everyone is in a great mood most of the time. If anyone was a bit rude it was me for intruding like I did but I was only enjoying myself and saying hello 🙋🏽♂️👋🏼. Hello to you, sir.

Hi Chris. Easy, I work my ass off and save money to do these routes that are not the ones that are known to have more camping access. I also am very frugal in life. I don't get caught up in consumerism and rather fix things that break then get new ones. The motels and at times hotels are a huge expense but nothing compared to the sacrifice of actually not working while I'm touring. That is the biggest of all the expenses. I've committed the investment in hopes of growing this channel and maybe someday earning enough income that I can keep doing it. We'll see.
