Lots of very good pointers. I just did my first back roll last week on a 17m kite which was crazy, and it was awesome. Now I’m on 12-14m Motto kites and making all the common mistakes, but slowly getting it. Thanks for this series.

Another awesome Rygo video! Personally, unhooked backroll was something I landed accidentally when I first started unhooking couple years back. lol Have you thought about doing a video on gear selection for all your unhooked tricks? Kite size, kite type, bar size, line length, board type, board size, boots or bindings, soft or hard boots, kite boots vs wakeboard boots etc. Does this vid already exist?

I like ur videos but didnt u mix up front and back shoulder? You said in order to backroll I need to look over my back shoulder but that seems wrong. I'd say u need to look over ur front shoulder to backroll and back shoulder to front roll. Cheers

5:48 or do u mean after half a roll the front shoulder is the back one :D

Oops! I meant look back over your shoulder. I must have started mixing it as I fell into the flow. Sorry about the confusion. 😂 - Rygo

so why unhooked and not hooked for this one?? is it for additional tricks later on?

Unhooked is a discipline of its own. It opens new doors to rotations that are not possible hooked in. The center of gravity changes and it makes riding more similar to wakeboarding or snowboarding. For some, this is the most fun way to ride. You can use all of these techniques hooked in if you like though! It will bring some power and style to your hooked riding. Cheers! - Rygo
