If we get another big release in 2026, I think it's safe to say we get a major new release at least every 3 years. Windows is going back to major new releases every 3 years as well.

On the contrary, Microsoft can't improve Windows, because it's a very general system that can hardly work in favor of performance, but rather in favor of portability and market dominance

It's just my opinion, of course Apple products should be more affordable. But I see that the company has been designing and placing its operating system in products with the appropriate hardware for a long time, and that is a great point.

3:00 33 years and I never used a Mac widget. So many features designed to waste my time learning. 6:57 Now I can clear them! 11:06 (horizontally) Why suddenly is ‘full screen’ a thing? Especially annoying with iOS: you try to draw and it moves the screen. 35:12 Messages search filter 12 years overdue.

This is the second video of yours I've seen where you talk about the "Purple Icon" in the menu bar for video... I just updated to Sonoma but I don't have that icon, and can't seem to find it anywhere in Settings. Any help as to how to get that up on the menu bar? Or has it been recently removed in the latest Sonoma Update (14.4.1)

I am on Ventura due to needing to keep some apps working, but appearance-wise Catalina was the last OS X version I liked. I usually turn off transparency stuff and keep my desktop as a solid color. I never use stage manager or widgets. Ventura also made it much harder to set up my menu bar like I want with Bartender and iStats Menu.

It’s my favorite is OS X launch in a long time because it focuses less on standouts and more on subtle changes. Like the new lock screen iPad clock or the way that the apple matches the real apple on your hardware when you boot the system

This update may not seem significantly different from Ventura, but it does appear to consume a more substantial amount of RAM. Individuals with 8 gigabytes of memory might encounter some performance challenges

NotchBooks get the taller menu bar. It was leaked last year that it would be coming to everyone, so if the "it leaks, it comes 2 years later" pattern holds true, we'll see it in macOS 15 (Napa?).

Very thorough and understandable. Thanks! I wasn't sold on widgets to begin with, harsh flashbacks of Windows Vista... gadget bar? But I was a big fan of OS X's Dashboard. You've convinced me that perhaps I can set this up again. Also, I've always had a Hot Corner for Show Desktop. The new option to click the desktop has taken some getting used to but is a welcome feature for me, and frees up a Hot Corner!

6:56 yeah but the items are still there and sometimes you need them. It’s much better to just always move them into a folder and that folder into another at times. I’m already at folder DT47 since 2017 but that works well.

I liked being able to sign a PDF that was emailed to me and when I hit the share button on the newly signed PDF it automatically gave me an option to send it back to the sender as an attachment. That’s slick shit!!

Works slower than Ventura on MacBook Pro M1 Pro and crashes when connecting a USB-C Lenovo dock (no such issues on Ventura), sooo staying with Ventura permanently it seems.
