Could you use 5mm single twist cord instead of the blanket yarn? Would this have a similar effect?

💙 that would be too bulky and cause your knots to not sit straight in the row. I’d use 3mm at the largest but I think you’ll have more success with 2mm for the berry knots

Hey! I’ve never done macrame before, so the materials list is kind of confusing to me. Do you mean that I need to cut 22 pieces of rope that are each 90 inches long? And then do you cut 36 pieces of green blanket yarn that are each 30 inches long?

💙 yes that is correct, I know the rope length seems long but each cord gets folded in half plus all the square knots and berry knots use up quite a bit of length to tie
