This plant pod is charming and different. Unfortunately, I had trouble following the tutorial and I realize I may have to watch the tutorial many times. I do wish you had not sped up the video because no knot teachings show how to do the knots within the structure of the pod. That is my typical frustration: Macrame teachers go too quickly and speed up their process. I would recommend that you have patience and show the entire clip in real time. Beginners will appreciate it and the advanced can fast forward. Thank you! I am a new subscriber. I look for many Macrame KZbin channels. I am pleased to have found you 😊

Monique Liddle 💙 thank you so much for the feedback. I’m sorry if it was hard to follow along. I try my best to slow down the demonstration but speed past the repetitive stuff. Unfortunately if I keep it all in real time my videos would be hours long and most people wouldn’t stick around for all of it. However you gave me a great idea!! 😄 Maybe I could host a livestream and we can have a “macrame with me” type of online workshop!? That way it’s all in real time and we can get a group together to hangout! What do you think? 😄💙
@indyj51584 жыл бұрын
Monique Liddle Monique Liddle you may find it helpful to change the speed of the videos you’re watching. It definitely helped me, especially when I was a beginner! Just tap the three horizontal dots in the top right corner of your screen, and change the “playback speed”. Also, simply Inspired- I think a live time virtual workshop would be really great! I’m getting ready to try this pod now, and super excited to see it once completed! Thanks for all of the amazing the tutorials! 💜✌🏼

💙 Hello, yup it’s in inches 😊
@MrJamesJakub4 жыл бұрын
Hi could you tell me how I make the pods larger please.
@SimplyInspiredbySheena4 жыл бұрын
💙 Hello, to make the pods larger increase the length of all cords, and add additional cords (larks heads) around the top of the main cord. Just be sure to increase by multiples of 4
@renaexists3 жыл бұрын
Love this pod! I tried to make a larger version in multiples of 4. I had a total of 55 larks head, making a total of 110 cords. Plus the top 2 making 112. This is a multiple of 4 and it was working fine until I got to the bottom of the oval. There, the knots wouldn’t line up. It was like I had one rogue cord down there. I took it apart more than once trying to find my mistake but no luck. Any idea why this would happen? Is it possible to make them too large for the pattern? Or is my math terrible? 😆
@SimplyInspiredbySheena3 жыл бұрын
💙 Hello...hmm, no it seems like you did the math correctly. It should definitely work at a larger scale. It could be a crowding issue? Are your larks heads tightly bunched together? How is your spacing with the square knots? It’s hard for me to tell without seeing it. Are you on instagram? Feel free to DM me over there and send me a couple pictures. If not...sometimes things work out for the better as you continue going. Eventually the shape will form the longer you keep with it 💙

💙 Hello 👋🏻 In nearly all of my tutorials you can find the supplies and measurements near the beginning of the video during the “screenshot” clip ( here 0:09 ) But for this pattern you will need: 1 -1 inch (2.5cm) ring 1 -100 inch (2.5 meters) 3mm single strand cotton rope 23 -60 inch (1.5 meters) 3mm single strand cotton rope 1 -40 inch (1 meter) single strand cotton rope Scissors Good luck and thank you for watching 😊

Do you work left to right for every row? Thank you
@SimplyInspiredbySheena4 жыл бұрын
sammyjo fletcher 💙 Hey Sammyjo! You don’t necessarily HAVE to work from left to right in this pattern, but if it helps you keep track of your rows then by all means go for it. Some patterns require you to work in different places and jump all over whereas some (like vertical double half hitch designs), you need to work from left to right and then backwards from right to left. This is just an alternating square knot pattern which means you may start on either side that you are comfortable on. Hope this helps and thanks for watching 💙

Hi there! I just made a pod, which turned out great for my first time btw. However, the cords at the top ended up being really short. I increased the amount of cords in increments of 4 as you suggested.. Do you have any insight on why? Thanks!
@SimplyInspiredbySheena4 жыл бұрын
Dead Chiropractic Society 💙 hmm, which cords up at the top were you referring to? If it’s the first set of cords that is on the ring it could be because you increased the pattern which then ate up a lot of your length...those original cords up at the top need quite a bit of length because not only are they the lead cords for the opening but also the top section below the ring that then gets worked throughout the entire pod. If you are referring to your larks heads that are around the opening it could be the same problem or your tension might be more lax than mine which can would use up more length. I hope that helps and thank you for watching 💙
@deadchiropracticsociety16224 жыл бұрын
@@SimplyInspiredbySheena Yes, it's the first sets of cords. That's what I figured. Next time I'll increase the length of them. Thanks for your response!

@SimplyInspiredbySheena4 жыл бұрын
Monique Liddle 💙 Hi Monique, yes this pod planter fits a small 4” pot. You can use this planter for succulents and other small or new plants. And yes, you can totally use it for rooting, though I’d suggest maybe using a baby jar instead of a pot so that it gets more light.

Hi. I made this but as one person commented below, it is tiny. I followed everything exactly as per your video, but the opening of my pod is only 3 inches, while yours is 4. And you say your whole project is 24 inches mine is just 12. How is this possible, unless the people I bought my cord from gave me a smaller sized cord and labelled it 3mm single twist?😓

Hi, when we include the first 2 cords (1 on each side) from after securing to the ring into the 23 cords, it will be 25 cords so I can't get into the pattern as it is not in multiple of 4. Can you explain if I got it wrong? Thanks!
@KV-gg3hc4 жыл бұрын
The 23 cords are tied to a larks knot so that would make it 46 and then plus the 2 cords. Total is 48
@xtinehoover4 жыл бұрын
Hi you said increments of 4 but your starting number is 23 another artist uses 20 so im confused. I followed the tutorial and the opening is much smaller than 4” more like 3 at most so I want to add more cord to make the opening bigger without disrupting the pattern. Please explain increments of 4 thank you
@SimplyInspiredbySheena4 жыл бұрын
Christine Hoover 💙 hello, sorry for any confusion. Yes you do need to keep it in multiples of 4 for the square knots to workout. There are 24 cords in total when counting the original first long cord that gets reworked into the pod. As for the size being a bit off, sometimes rope sizes vary depending on manufacturers even though they claim a specific millimetre. Tension between two artists can also factor in size difference. I hope that helps and I apologize for any confusion 💙
