This was an incredible episode. The acting by the entire cast was so good. I read online that Heleana predicted the Erryk/Arryk duel. There's a page she'd scribbled, "The goose kills its reflection then dies." A golden goose is the sigil for the brothers' house of Cargyll.

@6:13 -- daemon, in fact, did say so. remember what the "rat-catcher" said before the deed: "a son for a son, HE SAID." to whom was he referring? who used those same words to rhaenys last episode? the writers pulled a bit of sleight-of-hand on the audience by exiting the scene before daemon answered the rat-catcher -- his reply would have spoiled last episode's grisly climax -- but undeniably, reply he did.

It's actually been over 200 years since the events of GOT. Remember, the start of this show, in the opening it said 272 years before Dany was born?

WHY did Erryk fall on his sword? Because he couldn't live with killing his TWIN, that's why! Broke my heart to see them go because I'd hoped they'd reconcile under Rhaenyra. 😭
@EgoJinpachi_5 ай бұрын
makes no sense, I could write paragraphs explaining why but it's not worth it, in a shorter version: he already accepted to part ways with his bro before hand to fulfill the duty of the correct ruler in his eyes, so if his duty is already in higher priority than his bro (at it should be as part of the kings/queens guard), and the tragic scenario of having to face the highest stakes of defending ur ruler (duty to the max tested) vs your brother (lower priority, as shitty as it sounds), your conviction would let you feel you did the right thing and by killing urself you go back on ur own beliefs and contradict yourself last minute???? that's incredible lame writing . This is why, I believe Arryk is the one that won the battle, it would make absolutely 10000% more sense that way.
@mitchmatt60025 ай бұрын
@@EgoJinpachi_ Showrunner confirmed it was Erryk that won the fight in an interview. As to the logic of it all, I think grief and guilt quickly override that when the reality of such a deed hits. I'll miss the twins.

@@mitchmatt6002 do u know who won in the books?
@dgrmn123455 ай бұрын
@@EgoJinpachi_ the book, Fire and Blood, showed no clear winner as it was written as a history with different authors who are biased for different sides. One author said that the two brothers made declarations of love to each other before fighting for hours only for both to die from their wounds. Another said the fight only lasted a few minutes to the same result. Another said that ser Erryk won only to die an agonising death from his wounds all the while cursing his dead brother till his last breath.

Reminder that the director is purposely doing stuff like this so people don’t feel sympathy for anyone on the green side. Adding in the sex scene at the end made a horrific event into a comedy. He’s stated “this terrible thing the black side did was actually propaganda.” Which in the book it isn’t.

The showrunners confirmed our Erryck won ! He did "seppuku" because he couldn't deal with the fact he killed his brother. Arryck never would've called Rhaenyra your grace, and the second Erryck did she knew it was him. As usual great reaction guys ! Can't wait for ep 3 💕
@Kodos135 ай бұрын
Erryck also knew he would never be trusted again by Rhaenyra's forces; they would suspect him of being Arryck 'faking'. I do get Madison's suggestion that it could have been Arryck who 'won', but given how dishonorable he considered the assassination he had been sent on (he protested it to Cole), it's possible he realized that he had chosen the wrong side, and called Rhaenyra 'Your Grace' to acknowledge his mistake, before committing (far more honorable, in his eyes) suicide. He also could not handle being seen as a kin-killer.
@darksistersdelight5 ай бұрын
@@Kodos13 I honestly find the whole “can’t trust him anymore” thing a little silly, they both led different journeys before Arryck infiltrated he just had to say what he did who he talked with etc - including letting Mysaria go, where she was going and why. Little details only him and the people he encountered could know. Arryck would never know such thing. I think it’s very much the kinslaying, one of, if not the worst crime in Westeros, not even including the fact that they’re literally twins. At the end of the day, it’s heartbreaking and I bawl my eyes out every time I watch this scene again through a reaction channel, I’m surprise Madison didn’t lose her mind 😅
@EgoJinpachi_5 ай бұрын
confirmed really?.... for me it makes WAY more sense that the green team one won and couldn't live with himself for what he's just done, the calling her grace argument is not a strong one imo, if she's not the ruling queen, she's still royalty regardless or by courtesy as the title is still in the air as long as both contender are alive and/or in those last moments of clarity he "changed" teams and "your grace" was a way to indirectly say it and repent for it, so many possible meanings. Damn it kind of sucks if it was the one loyal to Rhaenyra, because he was doing his duty and there's nothing to feel guilty about, yes it's tragic you had to kill ur brother but the stakes were the highest of any kingsguard there's nothing to blame you for, you are a hero at that point, so taking ur life makes no sense.... they took the worst alternative if it indeed was confirmed.
@Kodos135 ай бұрын
@@darksistersdelight fair enough, but both brothers had to deal with "can we trust you?...are you loyal?" issues. Whether from Daemon or Criston, they had to weigh heavy on both Erryck and Arryck.
@darksistersdelight5 ай бұрын
@@EgoJinpachi_ yes it was confirmed by Condal I think, you can look it up. I see where you’re coming from but to me it makes hella more sense that Erryck prevailed because it also parallels the difference between Rhaenyra’s Queensguard who actually saved her life vs Aegon’s unreliable kingsguard who failed at his job. But also if I remember good, Rhaenyra was never referred to as your grace until she was crowned on Dragonstone. I think only kings and queens are referred to as such. That why When Daemon got to Harrenhal he cleared that up real quick that he doesn’t want to be refer to as “my prince” but as “your grace”, since the title of King Consort is his technically, and I don’t think Arryck would change his mind just in a second bc he killed his brother ? That was literally one the risk of him going there.
